Would also be really nice if all the sound engines had a note on offset delay amount- you might be able to do this somehow already but would be great for sound design having the sound engines triggering at different times from a note on.

Excellent idea.... Or a different amp envelope/mseg per oscillatorpizzatime1 wrote: Tue Nov 14, 2023 3:26 am Would also be really nice if all the sound engines had a note on offset delay amount- you might be able to do this somehow already but would be great for sound design having the sound engines triggering at different times from a note on.

How do the filters and oscillators sound? Is there anything virtual analog about it, or is it purely digital?

A lot has already been said about Perpetual vs. RTO.
In my case, what would be the best offer for the money ? : I already have all their plugins except Fuse Compressor. I can upgrade to the Current bundle for 173€. Or get the RTO.
Which would be the best for the money on the long term ? I am not so much interested in presets, rather in wavetables.
Thanks for any help

Can't you RTO for $120, which gives you $180 credit that you can then use to buy the bundle ? So you get the bundle for $120 ?Wanterkeelt wrote: Tue Nov 14, 2023 5:35 pm A lot has already been said about Perpetual vs. RTO.

Look a couple of pages back - I *think* it says you can't get a discount price when you use credits, so the bundle will cost "full" price (around $360) - but I think it still works out that you can get that after 2 years ($120 + $60 "bonus" each year.) - which only costs $240 in real money
Of course if you already own all the FX - you don't even need to worry about it - you already own the rest of the current bundle.

There doesn't seem to be a way of decoupling the arpeggiator from the scale quantise.
I had a session where the key was non standard so the last chord always had a flattened third in current's arp.

Some filters sound analog and you could certainly tweak the synth to mimic analog as it is a versatile synth but overall, the character and features of the synth are very digital.briefcasemanx wrote: Tue Nov 14, 2023 5:21 pm How do the filters and oscillators sound? don't know if this has been mentioned in this thread... in logic pro 10.8, people have been reporting doubled midi notes in kontakt. i don't use that, but Current is having the same issue (it's the only plugin i have that's doing this).
the workaround i'm using is to set the midi in channel to 1 and the midi out channel to 2 (in the inspector track settings).
hope this gets fixed soon!

As an owner of several of MA's plugins, I took advantage of the upgrade pricing and purchased a Current perpetual license. Looking for it to replace Vital which is giving me a screen rendering bug that probably won't be fixed anytime soon.
Only spent about an hour with it yesterday, but it's pretty intuitive and the UI is very nice. I agree with a couple of the other posters here that the oscillator manipulation options make it really easy to design novel waveforms and the filters and FX really shine. I'm finding it to be a good 3rd synth to complement to Serum's wavetable manipulation and Phaseplant's clever workflow.
Nice job Minimal Audio, and thanks for caving on the perpetual license option... as someone who doesn't use other's presets, this was the only way I was ever going to own Current. Happy it all worked out in the end and looking forward to seeing how this great synth evolves.

ha, life lesson: made 2 tracks with current, bounced them out so i could listen while i'm away this week (to see how i feel about the synth when not in front of it). so, just listened to 2 songs that are drumbeats only. the current demo (understandably) doesn't render to audio...

You could still just record the result… Like in the old days in realtime… To a tape (emulation)…fisherKing wrote: Thu Nov 16, 2023 2:16 am ha, life lesson: made 2 tracks with current, bounced them out so i could listen while i'm away this week (to see how i feel about the synth when not in front of it). so, just listened to 2 songs that are drumbeats only. the current demo (understandably) doesn't render to audio...
