Trying to replicate this EQ with MAutoDynamicEQ

Hi all,
I'm trying to replicate what was done in the video with ProQ3:
Notching all the notes that don't belong in the scale. I managed to do it by calculating each frequency and letting it repeat for 5 octaves using harmonics.
That works well - however, I was wondering if there is an easier way to do it.
Cheers
Lutz

I think it can't be easier than using the Harmonics

I'll try to do a video on this at the end of the week. You actually don't have to calculate anything, so it might even be easier than in Pro-Q

Looks like Plugin Boutique came out with a dedicated EQ for this idea. And here I was thinking I'd never be tempted by another EQ again. Any chance of getting MScaleEQ?

Do a favor to your music guys, this kind of processing harm more than fix.
Music isn't a sine wave, and even acoustic instruments aren't so precise.
This kind of processing makes no sense, you just mess up the phase, and makes sounds more unnatural

First off, I'd like to say that the mix example sounds like crap, with or without his EQ trick. Second, I'd like to say that his EQ trick is stupid, because it doesn't take into account that singers portamento all over the place, so they're not singing discrete notes all the time. Instruments and voice are made up of all sorts of harmonics too, that are not going to be aligned with the key of your song. Generally, you are wasting your time doing this trick, and clearly that guy's mix sounds horrible.
(also, the music is bad, but that's just my opinion.
)
That said, I use Waves' F6 all the time to do dynamic EQ. It's easy enough to see where a lot of the frequencies overlap, and you don't have to surgically remove each frequency that corresponds to a note in the key of a song. Usually one or two EQ nodes is perfect and will sound more natural than trying to create a comb filter that's aligned with the key of the song.

Personally, I think it sounds nice and has a lot of creative potential. But I also don't feel like going out of my way to insult other people's work and taste in music. So we clearly enjoy different things.

Everyone is free to use whateve he likes ofc, and for creative use i think the only limit should be our imagination, so every new tool is welcome.
My comment was just with mixing and mastering in mind
