In this video I show how to De-ess a vocal with 5 different plugins. You can actually do it with even more, but hopefully I showed the basics here. I hope you find it useful.

Beautiful video as always!!!

Although i still looking for a proper de-esser, i mean there are lots in the market, but all of them doesn't do what we need.

I don't know all the technologies behind dessers, but if they are helpful (as you showed) for a proper vocal sound, you still need to tweak them manually.

This damn word "AI" is everywhere, i see stem separations doing something i still don't understand how is possible, but there is no plugin able to do a proper de-essing.

I really hope Melda could develop something new, able to detect esses and treat them as we manually do.

Some esses are resonant in a very specific frequency, but if you treat it, you just lose the esses (yep poor recordings/mic) while others are very strong and even longer. So you need to turn the volume down, and even to cut them cause they are too long.

A proper AI model that recognize all these circustances and will treat esses differently accordingly on how they sound, would be revolutionary, and certainly something that will make me cry for happiness since this would save me lots of time!

Thanks. I want AI for something very similar. I hope Melda can make some A. I. That can remove string squeaks and breathes. It would be nice to have something that could remove those automatically, so you don't have to edit everything manually.
