I don’t agree with you. Just because something is popular it is not necessary good. The other thread is a perfect example. So many mentions of reverbs that are popular because they are more affordable. But many agrees that these mentioned plugins are not that good comparing to some higher quality ones. Of course, just because it’s more affordable, it can still be good. But popular does not equal to good. I mean… the Kardashians are very popular…lolilol1975 wrote: Thu Nov 16, 2023 10:03 amYeah, because people like bad reverbs, that's why they are popular
Literally every other week there is a new thread like yours, and it always ends up as a contest where everyone puts the reverb they use.Now I see you were just trolling.audiouser720 wrote: Wed Nov 15, 2023 7:56 pm I really do wish people talked more about reverbs. Such an underrated topic
Just not funny.
Which reverb is good in 2023?

And what else do you expect here ? That people are going to say "oh yeah I use this reverb in my productions but it's bad so in this new shiny thread, I'm going to list you the supposedly good ones that I've never used" ?audiouser720 wrote: Thu Nov 16, 2023 10:48 am I don’t agree with you. SIR3 is IMHO one of the best reverb plugins. I could elaborate why. Nobody ever talks about it. Not popular ‘here’ at all. It is also affordable.

Interesting discussion here
So a reverb can't be good if it's not over 150 euro?
In a oversaturated market?
Like Vintage Verb for 50 us/eu?
Or when r2 and r4 drop down miraculously the price from 200 to 10 euro and then vanish, they immediately become bad reverb, but before that was legendary?
What about other side of the story?
How many 200+us/ue worth the price if make ratio comparition price-quality-usability compared to 50-100?
How many producers will buy almost same reverb if not worse for 200 instead of 50?
This could be reasonable in a British Lords forum, but www market isn't functioning like one rich man shows off with the new toy to another:)
Popularity is based on usability imho.
And the terms good, bad,so on are subjective for everyone and could be result of marketing strategy or just a delusion or a man who make bad decisions and need to justify bad purchase
Cheers

It’s undeniable that Valhalla reverbs are regarded as top tier. The same goes for EA’s reverbs.
Still individual perceptions of reverbs vary greatly. What sounds fantastic to one person might not resonate with another. It's crucial to remember that the notion of "good" in reverb, like in many aspects of sound, is entirely subjective.

Yes, that's the problem with threads like these - everybody is allowed to participate, not just the experts like you.
So the thread-title should perhaps better be called "Which reverb is good in 2023? Only experts please!".
But then you'd probably still have people who consider themselves experts even though they haven't got half a clue, right?
Come to think of it, I think actually the best way to avoid that would be if you and the OP got in a room together - so why don't you guys take it to PM instead? I think that would be the best way to avoid people mentioning popular reverb plugins that aren't actually good.
Edit: typos

Prosumer not expert.
