Hi,
This is probably a really simple one but it is driving me round the bend. For context i am a complete novice at music recording and i am just learning on the fly since i decided to give it a go. I have a really basic/simple/cheap set-up with Waveform 12, a budget usb audio interface (with ASIO4all) and a guitar.
I have it all set up to record and it records fine. I add guitar rig 7 plug-in to get some sounds and that works fine. Playback after the recording sounds great - fine.
The issue is that when i am recording i can't hear what i am playing through Waveform in real time - so if i want to noddle about trying out different tones i can't really do that while playing. There is just no sound (apart from the click track in Waveform). Is that just the way it is or is there something i need to activate, or is that just a limitiation of the simple set up i have?
Cheers.
Unable to hear guitar in real time in Waveform 12

Select the input icon on the track to be recorded and then tick the "Live Input Monitoring" button there

Yeah, it's a toggle 'cause some times you do or don't want that coming through. With a microphone, it may cause feedback...
