Hey, it's not a true synth release without some ridiculous hyperbole

Post

Well, Reaktor had its good times in the past, there's nothing more boring than NI products. Ni's creativity has been sleeping for years

Avenger, Rapid, Serum and now Current :D
I'm just demoing Current and my initial feeling is that compared to Avenger it seems a little more future oriented. The cloud streaming for sounds is a cool idea and the synth does sound really great.
My thinking is divided between spending - what looks like $99 - on an upgrade for Avenger or the $199 for Current. I'm not feeling Avenger at the moment, especially with all the software protection BS over the last years but will wait and see what the new update brings. Right now my bet is on Current :tu:
Let's see what happens on the 24th :o

....
shouldn't this be automatically After 90 days or automatically every 90 days?

Current can be 139usd if you want to.
If you take the yearly RTO, you get 60 additional credit, so you just need to add 19USD after 1 year to get the Synth.

Like Reaktor hasn't gone away and outside something like Max is still probably the deepest in terms of its granularity. You can pretty much go into the DNA of any sound source or processor but also offers higher levels of interaction like blocks.

The creativity with Reaktor is pretty much only limited by the person using it.

Imagine where it would be today if the developers hadn't abandoned it but instead properly maintained it and updated it with annual features...

I see. I was not refering to Reaktor as for creativity , I was lucky that I could sell a pretty old version of NI Complete ultra about 4 years ago for a good price. Most NI products that were released the last 5 years are simply disappointing imo. And they collaborate or even own Plugin Alliance, I never liked PA plugins a lot lol I know, NI once was very popular, but other or better devs have entered the scene and some old devs managed to improve or at least not get too bad.
NI has become so boring, I don't even care or notice what they release

msvs wrote: Fri Nov 17, 2023 8:19 am I can post the updated Specs (with version 2.0 features added), maybe that can make an impression
and you did... all of them. this was a discussion of 'current vs avenger 2', but i still hope you get your commision :D

seriously, both plugins seem great, and one could own both. it's all (as always) about choice, and need. i don't need avenger, i don't really need either. (but i'll probably get Current...)...

dune_rave wrote: Fri Nov 17, 2023 6:15 am IMHO every newer instrument face huge risk (from the developer side), because we don't really need newer synths, there are a bunch of already existing super super synths to use, and those synths are existing, tested, rock solid etc...
we always need new tools, they inspire us, could offer new ways of working, new sounds. why should development stop? just because you're happy where you are? :ud:
