I received a “your order is confirmed” email from GC that shows I bought Toolbox Ultimate for $99 at around 5PM GMT so I wouldn’t normally contact the selling company unless I haven’t received my licence within a day or two. May as well go with the flow.

Mistakes have consequences or at least they should. If we don't push back against these bone headed moves by some vendors they'll just keep making more of them.Uncle E wrote: Sat Nov 18, 2023 8:03 pmIt was a pretty obvious mistake. Someone probably just read the wrong rows on their spreadsheet (swapped the price with Multipass).D-Fusion wrote: Sat Nov 18, 2023 7:34 pm In my country they have to sell it for the price that you bought it for even if it is a error (Not sure how it is in the US).
I don't understand how someone would be held accountable for this unless it can be proven that it was a predatory bait-and-switch. Even if it can be proven, what would be the point of doing it? It's not like the old days where we're trying to get people into our stores.
I have a receipt for the transaction and they have taken the payment out of my account.
This is the Black Friday season so who knows what price is a "mistake" or legit? "Too good to be true"? Again what's to say too good or not during this annual sale period? I've seen some insane deals over the years that did seem too good to be true....but were true.
Do we have to worry every time we make a purchase of an item on sale that it might not go through because "mistake"?
At any rate I called them and the guy said he re-sent the code. He did not at least at the time of this post. I'll give it another hour then call them back.
I'm sure they're legally covered by their "not responsible for pricing errors" disclaimer but then they'll just lose someone who has been a customer for many decades including hardware.
It sucks more for Kilohearts because it's not like I'm going to go pay even their current sales price of $99 now because that would be the same result as bait and switch.
So everyone loses in this case.

Yes, you’re right. A $5 gift voucher would be commensurate. Honoring the mistaken prices would not be commensurate.Teksonik wrote: Sat Nov 18, 2023 11:54 pm Mistakes have consequences or at least they should. Yes, absolutely correct. 75% off a $199 Waves plugin is called Tuesday. But Kilohearts has opted to get out of the hyper discount game (remember $9 snapins?) and $99 for Phase Plant is the lowest we’re likely to see for a while. This is the Black Friday season so who knows what price is a "mistake" or legit? For my own part, I’ve stopped letting anyone else at JRR do sales, specifically because of these kinds of issues.Do we have to worry every time we make a purchase of an item on sale that it might not go through because "mistake"?

So everyone who purchased a black Friday deal is being "greedy"? Stop being so stupid.
Again can we not trust any deal we get during BF because "mistake"? Any vendor can back out of any deal because "mistake"? Ok cowboy if you think that's the way things should roll then we have nothing left to discuss.
Anyway I called them again and this time the guy went to management and according to them all the transactions are "under review". In other words Guitar Center is in damage control now.
He said it might not be until Monday or Tuesday for a resolution. I'll give them that long. We'll see how they handle it.
If Guitar Center doesn't honor the transaction they'll have lost a long time customer, Kilohearts will have lost a sale and I'll be out a synth that I don't need but I've heard good things about and I've had to waste time faffing about dealing with forum twonks because....mistake.

Here’s something to consider, y’all:
From an audio plugin dev’s perspective this BF season: UAD has effectively cornered the market - from a pricing standpoint: nobody can compete with what they’re doing. So guess where the lion’s share of audio plugin consumer spending is going…

No, honoring the price they sold it for and have already charged me for would be the right thing to do. You make the mistake you take the loss. That's the honorable thing to do but I realize honor is dead so I'm sure they'll weasel out of it. I don't think I have to tell you where you can stick your "$5 gift voucher".Uncle E wrote: Sun Nov 19, 2023 12:20 am Yes, you’re right. A $5 gift voucher would be commensurate. So customers and potential customers have to know the sales history of every vendor? How would I know if a vendor "opted to get out of the hyper discount game"? Don't be silly.Uncle E wrote: Sun Nov 19, 2023 12:20 am But Kilohearts has opted to get out of the hyper discount game (remember $9 snapins?) and $99 for Phase Plant is the lowest we’re likely to see for a while.
We saw an attractive price and we made a purchase just like we have done countless times before. None of what happened after that is the customer's fault.

Will the Mntra Portals Bundle be added to the Mntra instruments at jrrshop?
It's missing from the sale.

I suspect as much. You think they will repeat this soon? If they follow the trend we should expect them to do that regularly now. Most ppl probably have tons of plugins, in order to be tempted I'm guessing the price has to be really low now. That's certainly my case in general. Except in this case cause i want to buy a DSP card later but that's an other story.goldenanalog wrote: Sun Nov 19, 2023 12:40 am Here’s something to consider, y’all:
