I saw some things on of RX4 on the internet and i thought it was very interessting to clean up my field recordings...

So i downloaded the demo and installed the thing.. I can see it in my vst list etc, no problems there.
When i use the RX4 connect plug-in and get some audio from BWS it starts up RX4 and see the recorded audio,no problems there either...
I mess/clean up my sound and whatever more..... :D

But here begins the "problem"
You,ve got the option in RX4 to send the sound back to BWS.
But when you go to your connect plug-in it says .. slab the PROCESS button... But it doesn,t appear?
Now i watch some tuts in ableton, pro tools etc, that they got a external WAV etc. editor option. (i know BWS doesn,t have this option)..
But do i need that function of an external editor to get it work in BWS?
Or im missing something here? Tried for 3 days now, but doesnt seem to work.(and trial is 10 days :( )
And cant find anything on the internet of RX4 in combination with BWS.. So my last option is to ask here.

So before i buy RX4 i really like to know if someone got it working in BWS? (because it isnt the cheapest piece of software... ) And if not it,s a no go for me.
I know you can save your samples in RX4 but i like that CONNECT feature so much!

Thnx in advance!

Disclaimer : I dont use the Connect feature and have only dabbled with the demo of BWS but:

Is it possible the sandboxing feature of Bitwig is preventing RX from seeing the plugin process it expects?
An idiot on Set Theory:

Thank you thinking with me...
But yes tried that also but didnt work out too... :(

Im afraid that you need an option in your DAW where you can set your external sample editor. :(

Copy paste from izotope site:
And tried it in ableton live and reaper and it works flawlessly.

Hosts that use RX as an external editor:
Ableton Live
Adobe Premiere Pro
Apple Final Cut Pro X
Apple Logic Pro X
Cakewalk SONAR
Digital Performer
Cockos Reaper
Sony Vegas Pro
Cockos Reaper

So i,ll make a FR here... We need a external sample editor option!

Essentially, the issue here is that BWS doesn't have an offline workflow, which hence means that RX connect can't work. Connect is intended as a work-around for hosts that do not have an external editor option, but when said host is missing both that and an offline workflow, you're a bit out of luck.

My only suggestion would be to edit the files directly on disk and then reload them in BWS, but as you can appreciate this is quite clunky.

Hi recursion, thank you for your answer....

Never knew they call it offline mode... (learn everyday)
But yes.. i already found out that im out of luck here.. Wich is to bad, i really had to pick up my jaw from the ground because i think its one H**LL of a feature.. We,ll see what the future holds for BWS in this situation..
I could make a FR. but already did this week. :hihi:
I dont want to make one for every little thing i stumble into. :hihi: :hihi:

Hey sorry to bring this back.

Izotope RX 10 Elements is on sale.

can I use it with Bitwig nowadays? Are there some restrictions/workarounds required?

I like using a field recorder for gathering sample fodder, afaict rx 10 might be useful for cleaning some of that audio up.

Absolutely, for a lot of normal restoration tasks its sufficient… But look into Acon Digital as well, for the deeper requirements I use that and its on sale as well. For your use case you also need a decent audio editor, and I prefer Acons Acoustica over any other…

But how is the workflow with Bitwig?
There’s still no "open in editor" button/shortcut for Bitwig, right?
I built a Looper for Bitwig! :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-z5ywDo2bU0

Well, that is independent of the editor you use. In your case I would first clean up the material in an editor and then move it into Bitwig, or use Bitwig as editor and use the plugin versions…
