Yes, I think so, to both statements.
It's that Youtube Broski culture they're trying to tie into with the accouterments of that video. Overly hyped and excited, even if he and the loud cameraman, are serious. I find it a bit tacky. Esp with the paused excited/shocked face on the thumbnail. Cheese. A stinky type.
But the product itself looks rather fantastic to me. Porridge just right, Not too hot or too cold. It's the first one I've seen where it seems like it might actually work with how my mind works. And if it had more features I wouldn't be interested as it would be too complicated.
Yet I also wouldn't use such a device to create the whole song, even if it is possible. It seems really great for sketching though and coming up with interesting loops and general ideas. Then exporting to a desktop for a full fleshing out into a proper song. Which then makes me interested in knowing what export abilities it possesses.
edit: I think it is missing one feature and a big one -- export/render options. I see none. I see none on the TE website, I see none in the Manual, I see none mentioned in the reviews on youtube. Are you just expected to never move your projects from this device onto another, such as a PC?
I really hope they have some automated exporting/rendering features available for this. Maybe over the USB port since there isn't an SD slot. If not, then that could be a big issue for me.

Cloud/Browser based app so x platform (seen pictures of it and it looks similar to the OP-1F one.)egbert101 wrote: Thu Nov 23, 2023 9:17 am I'm sure it has exporting functionality. I heard you can drag and drop samples so it must have some kind of PC compatibility.

Not sure if you can dump sys export but that would be a way to export your projects. Will wait and see.

I think it looks wonderful, and it seems very fun to play with. I get the hands on and easy to sample paradigm, but I am wondering how feature-packed is the sequencer : is it a basic, regular XoX style sequencer, or does it have advanced features (like random/probability, polyrhythms, etc)?

Shipping Restriction: No shipping to UNITED KINGDOM.
Wow, I feel offended. But actually I'm holding off, as there are some things people have raised that probably need addressing, like having to go online to transfer your samples, and not being able to backup projects. Little things like that.

Does anyone know, if you can use it as a looper? Maybe even trigger Loop Recording via MIDI?

Mine arrived today. I spent a few minutes playing with it (we just got back from a looooong drive so I'm too tired to do much else). My fader works fine. I haven't even gone through the guide with it, just played around based on a couple of videos I watched Thursday. Made a quick dubby loop with some built-in samples and played with live tweaknig it -- I can tell it's gonna be great fun for that sort of thing.
Pattern lengths are set in bars. But you can record unquantized, and apply time correction and swing selectively by punching it in, which seems pretty unique AFAIK.
The sequencing is pretty basic in some ways. No Elektron-style stuff, randomness, condition triggers etc (but you can record fader movements).sinkmusic wrote: Thu Nov 23, 2023 9:45 am I think it looks wonderful, and it seems very fun to play with. Not as a regular looper in the sense you're probably thinking.Septimon wrote: Sat Nov 25, 2023 12:01 pm Does anyone know, if you can use it as a looper? Maybe even trigger Loop Recording via MIDI?
