Minimal Audio wrote: Wed Nov 22, 2023 6:28 pm Yeah -- we're happy to make simpler patches, they're still nice and also we can do more of them in a pack.

This is the most recent pack we've added which has "simpler" patches -- the next batches of stuff will get significantly tuned back as well as we start to hit simpler categories like "keys" etc

These are a lot better - thanks ;)
Can you do one for leads too?
Can you make this kind of preset part of the "factory" patches - even if you have to take something else out? Better yet - maybe perpetual users (or when you quit RTO) can pick a certain amount of packs for their "factory content"?

I'll ask again because last time i didn't get an answer : How does one uninstall Current from their system ?

There's no uninstaller, and neither Windows nor uninstall programs show Current in the uninstall list.
You can find the instructions in the FAQ: https://www.minimal.audio/support

How can I uninstall your software?
macOS

Delete the Component, VST, and VST3 files in:
Mac HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
Mac HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST
Mac HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3

Delete the Product's AAX file in:
Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins

Delete the Product's folders found in:
Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Minimal
Mac HD/Users/Shared/Minimal
Windows

Delete the Product's .dll (VST) file in:
C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins

Delete the Product's VST3 file in:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

Delete the Product's AAX file in:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins

Delete the Product's folders found in:
C:\Program Files\Minimal
C:\ProgramData\Minimal (ProgramData is a hidden folder)
Wow. That's crazy. First time ever i've seen a dev do it this way.

But thanx anyway.

Well, I bit the bullet today and went for the RTO.
I'm slowly getting my head around working with the "chords" section - but it's weird being locked in to a specific key.

Here's another idea for a feature request. We could do with a tuning (in semitones) for the entire synth. I don't know if it would work - but it's weird when the "chords" module is set for C Dorian - you have to play 3 semitones down ie you have to play an A note to get your C (minor) chord.
If the whole synth could be tuned down by 3 semitones - that would make life a lot easier ;)

As a perpetual owner, can you still buy packs (that subscription users get for free)? If so, how much are they? The Haze Pads one sounds cool but if the packs are mega expensive, forget it.

Nice Freebie (at least for me) in my Minimal account.

The Hybrid filter. Looks like the filter section from Rift and the same one that's an effect in Current.

Are you perpetual or RTO?

No, it's not. It's in line with about half of the market - just that some companies do not tell you. I found leftovers from old installs in really weird places. NI has been notorious for that, but I could name a dozen companies that spread their stuff over half of your HD. The way Minimal does it is pretty much standard - you delete the VSTs or AUs, plus the product folder.

Agreed that an uninstaller would be much more comfortable - but it's not "crazy" or the "first time" this ever happened. Sorry, but the level of whining in this thread is really over the top, even by KvR's standards :hihi: .

Bit the bullet😃 I’m finding this to be quite inspiring for off the wall stuff. Definitely up their with Phase Plant but different enough to warrant a purchase or RTO in my case. The streaming preset option is mega:)

Post

Yeah that looks completely normal. If you don't install VST2 and AAX you only need to check a couple places
NI is a fun one, folders in 6 locations, top half of my ProgramData folder colonized, configs in the registry... At least I don't have to clean them manually
My favorite is people putting the uninstaller in a generic location so the next time someone with a similar idea comes along they overwrite the other uninstaller

Take a look at NI's un-installation guide sometime...;)

@Minimal Audio,
you send out newsletters saying:
" get Hybrid filter for $0 "

but thats coupled to a purchase or subscription of "Current, right ?
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

Yes, that's correct. You have to either purchase Current or subscribe to it.
