Is Serato stuff ever on sale, btw?
I'm interested in their Sample 2, but not at $149

I got Serato Sample for $70 July '22 from JRR. Id seen it as cheap as $50. I waited for awhile as was patient. Not worth the list unless yuou have a specific project to do

Ok. I'll be patient then. I would buy it for around $70.

I've kept an eye on Sample for a while, too, and hoped to get it in the ~$50-60 range.

The problem at the moment is that they only recently released a large update to v2. I believe that bumped the base price (from $99), and they also took Sample off the rent-to-own program at Splice (which was another option).

So it may be unlikely to see large discounts again for a while, and possibly Serato's changed their strategy for pricing altogether.

I dont think the update will do all that much to affect the pricing strategy. The update mainly added AI stem extraction for breaking loops into their components. By now thats old news (I'd gotten RipX by the time Serato 2 came out ) It may take a little longer but I'm sure Serato 2 will be down to $70 within 5 months. I could be wrong however.

Let me backtrack a bit on my appraisal of Serato 2. I hadnt tried the realtime stem separation until now, its pretty amazing and useful for an "on the fly" process. I may be off about how soon it will be on sale.
