Submitting a device

I have made an approach to incorporate a certain aspect of program dependency into a compressor.
This is an experimental device, and I would like to offer it to the community for evaluation.
I see that I can submit a device, but before I ever dream of this I want to add water-tight help information. I want to avoid at all cost to submit another device nobody knows anything about.
How can I edit help information? I did not find anything substantial about it.
Also, what is a "preset" versus a device in Melda-land?
I can save a preset in Mixcraft, but I cannot even transport that one easily. It will contain a lot of useless additional information like A/B (c,d,e..) button assignment and probably other bloating stuff.
Is there a way to make up a "device" that is clean (albeit basic GUI)?
Any help appreciated.

You can create your preset then upload it using the plugin preset manager.
Is not really like a device, cause doesn't show along the others, but depending on the plugins still comes with the knobs you create. The difference it's just aesthetic though
Here you can see my pultec emulation i made for MAutoDynamicEQ

Frankie,
thanks for your reply.
That looks exactly like I envisioned.
Where and how do you enter the device name (your name in this case)?
Also, your device seems to be exported other than the way you describe.
You wrapped it up and make it downloadable. Is this the archive function in Melda?
I will download the demo version the EQ and look at your unit.

I have watched many videos (not all, only the ones that seemed to tell what I was looking for..), and I have done quite a bit of work with the MPs, but I could not find yet how the help files are done and how a user device is exported.
Frankie, I have to yet watch your video.

I have looked at above Melda tutorials. Unfortunately, MTurbocomp is a much cut down version of this as far as device creation and export goes. None of this is applicable to MTurbocomp, those functions are there just rudimentary.
Frankie. I cop your video. I don´t have the EQ plug-in, but I can follow your moves well. I have reverse engineered some
of the compressors in MTurbocomp and I managed to get sime quite complex stuff done. But your video also does not
cover my question: how do I enter extensive help files so that they appear in the help menues in the right places?
Thanks four your help.

What do you mean by "help files that appear in the menu"?
In MTC you can decide how the knobs showed in the main tab react accordingly with your Multiparameter and the settings in the advanced tab.

The help info for new multiparameters is defined in the MP's Appearance \ Edit information about the multiparameter area.
The easiest way to share a new preset (with MPs) is to copy it in the toolbar and then paste the code here in the forum. The feature in the editor is useful for this so the long string can be collapsed.

I must look into that, I am not sure if I understood. The easiest way to share a new preset (with MPs) is to copy it in the toolbar and then paste the code here in the forum.
If you load a (factory) device and you click on the "?" in the right corner, it displays a help file that is large. It appears to be assembled automatically using keywords (very likely those mentioned above), but also contains device specific information like "We listened to the DBX ...".What do you mean by "help files that appear in the menu"?
This would be the to-go help file people would seek first if they wanted to know about a device.
To me, a customer device without description is useless.
For this, the information in the MP alone is not sufficient, although it will be used by the help-file-generator. How this works is what I like to know. Of course only, if it were user accessible.
But again, a submitted device without instructions is of little use.

The text in the EXPORT DEVICE dialog appears at the top of the HELP.
It seems that the global description cannot be omitted.

Since its going to be a preset and not a device, the next best place to put the help text is in the Preset Information area.aquataur wrote: Sun Nov 26, 2023 6:15 pm I do not find such a thing in MTurbocomp.
MSoundfactory seems to be equipped with a much deeper level of device making control.
