Greetings.
I recently obtained MTurbocomp and I immediately was intrigued by the MPs.
I tried a few things, which I may come back to later.
There are a few anomalities in making your own device, which I will describe in the following. I don´t know if they are bugs.
*The EZ screen seems to have some problems when detached.
1) The devices (even factory models) forget their names as soon as the panel is in detached mode. It always says "Easy Screen" although it seems to remember help files and MP references ok.
2) EZ screen does not update when making A/B comparisons. The screen goes blank. You have to dock and undock again to retrieve the front panel.
3) on a custom device, you may disable a control (grayed out) via a MP directive. This does not work in detached mode.
4) If you change or add a MP in detached mode, it does not update the EZ screen.
5) I had it that in detached mode you could manipulate a control on the EZ screen, but it was no longer connected to the MP itself.
6) User devices take over a random name. The name reverts to EZ screen when detached.
*There is a bank problem:
I played with the 1176 device. MP#10 "ratio" uses bank select. I have added two more parameters to its list.
1) I extended the number of banks to 10. The new banks fill with random numbers.
2) Bank copy does not work. it scrambles all numbers in the new bank. This is the worst and quite cumbersome.
3) It took me a while to understand the symbols. The names are misleading and don´t adhere to customary computing lingo. "Move to bank" really swaps 2 banks.
"load bank" actually copies it to the clipboard.
"save bank" pastes it from the clipboard. "swap", "copy" and "paste" would be self explanatory.
4) Bank copy leaves the names out (might be intentional)
5) Pressing the dice symbol on one of the banks grays out the EZ screen.
*Style preferences are not remembered. The next time the program starts, NEON is back.
I should mention the surrounding parameters, although I do not see what they should do:
DAW: Mixcraft9 Pro, Win 10, registered version of Turbocomp (16.09).
To be fair, not all of that may be a bug, it may be lack of comprehension.
Thank you for your assistance.

Mixcraft 9 does not work well with VST3. Try VST2 and see if the issues persists. I never use detached mode, so I wouldn't have noticed those things. I also don't use MC9Pro any more because of its instability and poor CPU optimization. I switched to Reaper and have been way more productive, after the initial learning curve of course.
Bank copy would be sweet.

I am using VST2.
I don´t know about the issues you speak with Mixcraft.
I did however not slip my attention that they are dishing out releases on a far too high rate.
The market pressure will be high and be the driving source, but at some point they are risking to lose more customers than gaining.
(My productivity is not limited by the program. It is limited by intrinsic factors
)
I used the detached mode immediately, because I want to know how things work.
In fact, to harness a device I have to know how it works.
To gauge by the limited amount of submitted user devices I´d guess that not too many people get into the MP´s. The method is quite powerful.
Bank copy is there. It just does not work as expected. And its not readily recognizable as such due to unwise choice of terms and symbols. In other places throughout MP world they use a quite logical copy and paste symbol. Why not use it in banks too?
I hope somebody from Melda´s staff reads the bug report. Those things should be fixed or the method will get bad rap like nothing... none of my business.

If your DAW is working for you, keep it up. As a troubleshooting tool, Reaper has an unrestricted demo and is a small program. You might consider trying your workflow in Reaper to see if detaching has the same behavior. Also, there were recent multimonitor display issues on certain hardware, so try one monitor to see what that does.
Yeah, MPs and devices are amazingly powerful, especially with transformation shapes. I agree that there are improvements that could be made, but they've been around for a while, so any reputation has already been established. There are some nice things about banks too. I recently learned about bank auto-gain, in Bank Control \ Menu. That will definitely save me some time in the future.
