No answer, I guess we know the answer, lol!seangm wrote: Mon Nov 20, 2023 4:35 pm So are we getting a Black Friday sale at all at Plugmon this year? Had my eye on some of their soundsets.
Is the dev responsive in support for the skin, will it be updated when DIVA is, like the MPE update?

Very unsresponsive guy. I have never ever seen even a simple 'thank you' whenever someone praises one of his GUIs. Returning a bit gratitude and appreciation cannot be so difficult and also shows respect towards the customers.simmo75 wrote: Sun Nov 26, 2023 4:07 pmNo answer, I guess we know the answer, lol!seangm wrote: Mon Nov 20, 2023 4:35 pm So are we getting a Black Friday sale at all at Plugmon this year? Ditto, in case it wasn't clear to all I was being sarcastic above when I joked that I 'hoped there wouldn't be a sale'...

Wow, sorry, I forgot subscribing the topic and didn't notice replies.
There will be no sale held. There are various reasons for that. Fundamentally, I am a developer rather than a marketer. I have no idea how you estimate revenue/loss a sale brings. I don't have social power to advertise the sale, either.
Custom GUIs are nothing but luxury, not something essential for track making. If, by conducting annual sales, the majority of customers choose to wait for those sales, how much will the annual revenue decline? Who guarantees that there will be a significant opportunity worth the loss? ...After repeatedly considering such matters, the current conclusion is not to hold a sale regularly. I'm now in the stage of researching how the sales work in practice. Conducting a sale during last year's World Cup was one of those instances.
I have just managed to eke out a living over the past 3-4 years, still live on the edge. I would appreciate it if you guys wouldn't tease the serious decisions I am struggling to make.

Many of us support you being able to make a living from your work, and we are happy to pay full price. Whether you hold a sale or not is your decision. I appreciate the work you do, and I'm sure many others here do as well. There will always be loud negative people here on KVR, just remember the silent majority is here with support as well.plugmon wrote: Mon Nov 27, 2023 1:25 pm Wow, sorry, I forgot subscribing the topic and didn't notice replies.

And I will reflect on to improve communication with people.

Even if Black Friday is already over - just a little thought...
Although of course each of us likes to get great things cheaper or the opportunity to do so. Nevertheless, with certain things, like the Mona UI - it's something very special where someone has put a lot of work and dedication into it, and generally a special add-on to the plugin, for that alone it deserves the full value. And at the same time, if the Mona UI makes the workflow with Diva more pleasant for you, especially due to the different layout and design, in case you use Diva quite often - that makes it completely worth the price! And - in doing so, you support someone who does very special things for perhaps their favorite synth.
And just as a cross-comparison, Mona UI is actually cheap, some sell a skin for Vital (where only the color settings have been changed) for $10, or some sell a Serum Skin where only a random graphic has been layered over it with a few cutouts for the waveform displays etc, for 19$
Mona UI is in a completely different league when it comes to quality, looks and functionality!
Don´t get me wrong, it`s not meant to be negative or anything like that. Maybe it's largely due to the fact that the market for plugins, and sounds is changing in a devaluing direction somehow overall. When iconic high-quality brands like UA, SSL and Moog sell their plugins somewhere for an average of 80% discount half the time of the year, this may unconsciously give many people the feeling - an 80% discount is the new normal price - and so you no longer see it for many people actually real value.
