As far as I remember, the live mode had to be wired to a fixed 'on' state, but it drops that setting every time it loads, so it also requires a 5-minute M4L session...one price double fun
But does it work with existing notes fed into it???
EDIT: Should have watched the video before writing... 8)

This looks very interesting! Thx!! :tu:

EDIT2: Nope... doesn´t do what I want... it seems to be a very interesting chopper nonetheless but I don´t find any euclidian option other if you create it yourself...

I think trancit is trying to find a reason to go back to BW :hihi:
Even if the midi FX in Bitwig are very very appealing (especially with the Note FX selector) this would be a very poor reason... :tu:

I am talking about a Midi FX plugin which turns long midi notes into (gapless) rhythmic notes without arpeggiating (means changing pitch or similar...

So i.e. turning (according to your settings) these chord notes into this euclidian rhythm:
Chopping.jpg
.
No audio gates... not step sequencing... midi note chopping but with euclidian rhythms...
I.e. this was done with 5 of 16 of a euclidian chop script in FLS...
ah well live 12 will have this feature built in :tu:

New Generators in 12 (part of Piano Roll)

Chord. Scale-aware (see below) chords by degree.

Euclidean Generator. Revenge of the clave: these tools for generating rhythms will eventually be everywhere.

Rhythm. Not a Euclidean Generator; this tool uses a set of its own heuristics for generating different patterns and extending them over a selection. (A common usage would be to use Rhythm for hats and the Euclidean Generator for elements like toms, kick, or, yeah, claves.)

Seed. Set pitch, duration, and velocity ranges, and spawn a pattern.

Shape. So this is based on the way a lot of us would mouse in patterns. Select a pre-defined shape or draw one in, but have Live generate the pattern based on constraints of rate, tie, density, and jitter.

I guess if you want to do this top audio you can just audio to midi or drop audio in a sampler or drum rack
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

As far as I´ve seen it does not!
It does have a euclidian generator which generates new notes out of the blank but I didn´t see anything that it can transform existing ones (except the actual transformers but they do not include euclidian chopping)...

Can you confirm that Live 12´s Euclidian Generator (if this is what you are talking about) can change existing chords to euclidian rhythm without changing the pitch, without gaps etc???

Same story... Generators

Would help me just if they would transform existing notes... if they do... great... but I didn´t see any video on this and have sadly no access to the beta til now...

i was not talking necessarily about the euclidean generator but there are now shortcuts to higlight any not and slice them into whatever amount of note you want. (not exclusive de euclidean rythms). I think he does exactly what you mean in this video :

Yeah, but these do not fall into the grid if you use the "holding CTRL/CMD + arrow up/down"...
They are unquantized which I don´t want either... 8)

Sorry for being nitpicky... :tu:

That should do it unless he needs “random splits and random lengths”.
I’m sure M4L can achieve that but someone needs to think of it first…
And now Trancit is thinking of it :hyper:

Pitch that idea to someone who can do program in max. With the new midi tool implemantation should not be rocket science for someone exprienced in max

I have no idea where...
I am quite new to the Ableton community and have honestely no clue where to post such requests that people knowing to programm such thing get really aware of the request...

I requested the same to the new PR scripting scene in FLS and it took a gifted guy perhaps 10 minutes to make it... so shouldn´t be a big deal in Max either...

the splitter modulator also has some skills in MultiClipEditor

it appears to be compatible with Ableton Live 12
