This has been driving us a little bit crazy since we haven't been able to reproduce it internally. We got some other windows machine we're trying to setup to make it happen. You weren't able to get a crash report when this happened by chance were you?jbraner wrote: Wed Nov 29, 2023 7:34 pm Many times when I'm choosing a synth sound - I like to loop a section in Reaper, and play different presets etc to find something that fits.
I've crashed Reaper a few times already, doing this with Current.
Maybe it will get more stable - it must have something to do with scrolling presets while looping in Reaper.
In the meantime, I'll need to keep saving frequently - and stopping (and restarting) Reaper every couple of minutes.

Sorry - I don't have a crash report.
It's reaper 7 (latest version) on Windows 11.
I just loop 8 bars and scroll through Current presets and it will crash after a little while.
Maybe I'm changing the preset just as it's making the loop, or maybe it's just some particular presets...
I appreciate it won't be easy to find

For me , the omission of cc controller assignment is a huge disappointment. Please prioritize an update!!zvenx wrote: Sun Nov 19, 2023 10:14 pmMine too.. I brought it up earlier and I think he said they will look into it.emasters wrote: Sun Nov 19, 2023 9:52 pmI wondered the same thing -- especially the Macro Knobs. Checked with their Tech Support - there is not a way to do this. Since it's a plugin only (no stand-alone), Minimal assumes you'll map CC controls inside the DAW. For example with Logic, using Smart Controls. This does work ok, but my preference is to still have the ability to map CC controls inside the plugin (similar to U-He's approach).tq wrote: Sun Nov 19, 2023 9:40 pm O.k., maybe I am missing something - but is there a way to add Midi cc's to the controls somehow - at least the macro knobs? Using the mouse for this is not ideal, and I don't seem to find a way to do this - it's easy to drop modulators, but no cc?
vst3 initially didn't allow it but they added the ability to a few years ago.

I noticed that there were a lot of wavetables and "sounds" that weren't downloaded, so maybe it was getting annoyed trying to download things when I was looping and scrolling presets?Minimal Audio wrote: Thu Nov 30, 2023 8:15 pmThis has been driving us a little bit crazy since we haven't been able to reproduce it internally. I'll see if it's better next time... (this isn't urgent, it was just annoying)

The lack of a quick way to apply overall amplitude velocity to a patch is the absolute head scratcher for me.MvWdV wrote: Wed Dec 06, 2023 8:26 pm

It's such a fundamental feature of any synth.
Everything is summed to the Amp envelope (which is effectively a VCA with an inbuilt envelope) so modulating the output level with velocity would be ideal.
All the envelopes have a level control that can be modulated with velocity except the main Amp envelope!
The only way to do it (unless I'm missing something obvious) is to apply velocity to each generator's output level individually and that's a PITA.
Another issue but less annoying is that the arp is always locked to a scale. So if you play a chord that's not in the selected scale it will quantise to the nearest note.
It's less of an issue because many songs will be in a certain scale but I have encountered this issue when using a chord change that did not fit neatly into any of the available scales.
The simplest way around this would be just to have an option to turn off scale quantise.

The message is not yet reverted.Minimal Audio wrote: Wed Nov 22, 2023 12:59 amDon't fear... it's just a template that got modified in the kerfuffle. -- We're not planning any major version bumps on those products. -- I'll revert it on those pages.
Just because you are not planning to release a new version yet, does not mean that you will get new versions as announced in the past.
It would be nice to know where you stand as a customer...and this attitude doesn't help.

This is a weird one. I'd say if you want to lock to a scale - you'd use the chord module.Another issue but less annoying is that the arp is always locked to a scale. So if you play a chord that's not in the selected scale it will quantise to the nearest note.
I think they'll fix this though.

Yeah it's weird but it does seem like one of the easier fixes.jbraner wrote: Thu Dec 07, 2023 9:00 amThis is a weird one. Overall I love the synth.
It's very quick to use and the effects are fantastic.
It's also rock solid for me. Good performance and very stable.
While I love the Falcons, Rapids and Avengers of the world their complexity comes at a price in the shape of the user experience.
Having a more limited feature set allows for a more direct experience.

I like this synth too. It's just a little different - but that's not a bad thing.

I caved and went RTO, very happy with my choice. Got some unique qualities and great presets, and relatively decent CPU usage.
A few questions- is there a way to enter precise modulation values? I'm trying to create a stepped melodic pattern driven by the curve modulator, but finding it hard without being able to enter precise values.
Also, wanting try and understand what the factory presets/content are? I plan on RTO until I have accrued the majority of a purchase for current/FX, but don't want to be using presets/wavetables/samples that I will also have to buy...

I also purchased earlier this month. Always knew I would eventually. I think it's just a really great synth overall and to me ticks all the boxes to be the first synth I reach for now - great sound, deep sonic and modulation options, intuitive and fast workflow and light on the CPU.

I love the Stream sample/content browser. I don't have Current but I do have Minimal Audio sample packs and this is the best way to browse them! So I use Stream in my web browser. I hope you guys will consider making it a standalone app or plugin.

It has become my goto synth.
It has the right amount of features for 99% of sounds. If I need something more complex I'll turn to Falcon or Avenger.
But the more streamlined feature set just allows the synth to be more accessible.
Also the FX are just stellar.

I like the new lofi leads presets. They're simpler and a lot easier to fit in to a song.

It's really easy to roll your own patches, but I also think we need to convince MA that not everyone is looking to be a Dubstep Dave. As time goes on, I'm sure they'll release content that is applicable, right out-of-the-box, to other genres. Given enough time and someone is bound to create an expansion that Noisia would approve of.
