In the Black Friday email I received from Tracktion yesterday there was a sneaky mention of Waveform 13 and the following screenshot:

Am I mistaken or is that an Ableton / Bitwig style clip launcher?

Ill buy if it gets a clip launcher, also Id like them to change the nobs on the new dj mixer to there standard nobs, those Retro ones dont blend, but I do like the DJ mixer the other thing I find strange is the Right hand Tool bar box it looks confusing and out of place it would be good to move it to the left hand side (optional) or right hand side Or have the option of what it shows, other than that I am interested in it .

Oh great. New functionality with new set of bugs. I strongly hope, they'll fix those major ones from Waveform 12 first!

I'll keep an eye out for the the reception to this when it comes out. It puts a bad taste in my mouth to charge for bug fixes and for new bugs on top with each new release. I think I'm getting to the end of my patience and will invest my time in other software if things are continuing in the same direction.

You don’t even need to go to a fortune teller to ask))

i may be crazy, but i'm excited about it! i've never had an issue with waveform. now i only use about 22-25 tracks at the most and never a problem. now plug ins that's a different story! but they were the vst's companies.

Surely there must be consensus by now...

It's the way the DAW works with audio/MIDI clips. They are not stacked in a linear way as the usual DAWs do, but they are stored in some sort of a grid instead and you can launch them separately or in groups. It's the approach introduced in Ableton Live. Now many DAWs have introduced this sort of mechanism as an option. You can google it.

I have used a "clip launcher" a lot, but never to launch other peoples clips. I only ever use it to play back my own clips that I record. In other words, its just another way of recording music. Instead of linear along a timeline, you record in a loop of any length. The main advantage being that, when jamming you do not have to copy-n-past to repeat sections, just stop recording and the DAW will sync regardless of how many bars you have played.

This is precisely the big problem with both Tracktion Waveform and Ableton :D
