Dirtgrain wrote: Mon Dec 04, 2023 3:53 am From recent reports, Avenger is clicky. Blech. Meh.
I see, so that must be the reason why people are wondering and desperately trying to find a synth that is equal or even better than Avenger lol
Really? How many people?
Every owner of a synth plugin or even real synth who thinks and knows that if he bought Avenger all his other synths he thinks they are great would not get any use any more or just very little use. Some Mac users indeed have a little bad luck as to Avenger.
So not so many people, I guess.
There are 180 posts in this thread,
Avenger obviously doesn't get much attention haha

I can't wait the movie to be released showing the story of the two devs of Avenger. They derserve a star on Hollywood walk of fame, their achievement is simply outstanding. They make history just like Oberheim, Moog, Linn etc in the hardware world.

Sure a nobel prize

Avenger attracts the edgy kids, their marketing in cringey and overall it gives me Jordan Peterson vibes.

I don't like their marketing motto "the last synth you will ever need". I don't want a last synth.

even worst

Meet our new alpha and omega of synthesis: Vengeance Producer Suite Avenger 2.0 is here! The most versatile and best sounding synth you will ever encounter.

In french, we say "avoir le melon"

In addition devs should get an award for best marketing

First I thought someone who "says" the last synth you will ever need must be crazy.
Well, then I demoed it and didn't think he/they are crazy anymore.
It's like my first e-guitar, I bought it, liked it, never even thought of getting another one. I tested some others out of curiosity, but no...

i refuse to believe this guy isn't roleplaying

Truth is we're absolutely spoiled for choice.

Avenger is an incredible synth. Ridiculously capable and sounds phenomenal.

But so are Phase Plant, Rapid, Falcon, Msoundfactory, Current, Pigments etc.

Any one of them offer near endless possibilities.

It's interesting how the marketing and presets can shape our perception of a brand/synth when they're really just... synths that can do whatever you want with them. There's no reason you couldn't make a 1988 Detroit techno track with Avenger but the overall look and the presets are so heavily tilted toward 2023 festival EDM it gets harder to see it as the tool for that.

Post

I may have gone too far with the Jordan Peterson comparison, now that I think of it is more like Steven Slate, over the top marketing and "I am going to impress you" vibe.

It looks like a website that wants to sell you a class on how to build a website to sell classes to people who want to build a website to sell classes...

Word. Maybe he's one of them, troll "laughing" as a wimpy defense mechanism. He loses Avenger respect here, no matter who he is.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.
