Diva nails the oscillators but lacks the multistage envelopes. I'm not sure about the filter - I've looked around but I've not seen any documentation that it models the IR3R05 specifically. I've tried replicating the "Velo Reso" patch in Diva and gotten fairly close, but for whatever reason could never get it to deliver quite the same punch.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Sat Jul 01, 2023 2:42 pmWhat about Diva?randomtestsubject wrote: Sat Jul 01, 2023 2:19 pm I would personally jump for joy if it were an Alpha Juno. I think there are a lot of misconceptions about this synth, one being that since we are (admittedly) oversaturated with emus of earlier Junos, then why would we need this one, but the Alpha has waveforms the 60 and 106 do not, more complex envelopes, adjustable chorus rate, and an entirely different filter altogether. It really does sound distinct, and is capable of much more complex tones than prior Junos, and way more than the hoover sound that it gets pigeonholed for. That said, I get that its filter is considered weak by some and its overall sound is not for everyone - I just happen to like it tremendously.
As for emulations, yes, there is the Audiorealism version, but as some including myself were pointing out earlier in this thread, it doesn't fully capture the Alpha's unique sound in the way that modern analog emulations are now capable.
Here are a couple of comparison clips I made with my own Alpha Juno 1, using two factory ROM patches (Velo Reso and Arpeggiator) followed by ReDominator's version of the same patch:

I never want to trash a good faith effort to emulate one of my favorite synths, but if the ReDominator's included factory presets are 1:1 parameter-wise (and I assume they are since it imports sysex from the hardware) then to my ears, there is an obvious difference in the overall tone and the behavior of the envelopes. So when I say there's room for improvement, I mean it constructively, but it's also the reason I consider a definitive emulation of the Alpha to be "still missing" in 2023.

I somehow doubt that Cherry Audio is a "well respected developer" for gentleclockdivider.YnJ wrote: Sat Jul 01, 2023 10:47 am Are we talking about the Cherry Audio "Rare Antiquity"? I wouldn't call the Juno a rare antiquity, at least not rare

Who's that? It's obvious now that you were talking about something else, I was just asking. Now, move on to your plans on domination of Europe or taking your clothes off in public places

And, I have no idea what you mean with your second sentence. Did I somehow offend you? Puzzled here.

Synths that still need good true to life emulations preferably by a decent company like u-he or Xils (and not Arturia):
Ensoniq Fizmo
Kawai K5000
Yamaha FSR1
Ensoniq TS-12![]()

if you allow me, I'm still hoping for one specific effect emulation
Boss delay Machine
...and I strongly agree for a Yamaha FSR1 module and ....does anyone mentioned the Quasimidi drum synth machine ?

We still don’t have a good ARP 2600 emulation, IMO. I hope Arturia updates their version, though I bet Softube would do a great job with it.
