Seems OK but I just bought Diva and recently Dune 3 also.
I will pass on this one.

Not a fan of inmusic; anyway this sounds really good to me.

I tried the demo for about half an hour and... I don't know. I'm not clicking with it yet. The oscillator architecture feels "strange"/"unusual" to me, I'm not used at being forced at having the same wave on both oscillator 1 and 2 and being able to control only the tuning (and the phase, ok...) on oscilator 2. Then there's the sub oscillator which can have different waveforms, but this architecture feels a bit strange. If I want to use two different waves (say triangle and square), I have to use both layers.
Two filters (hpf and lfp) and two indipendent layers are useful, and I like having enough modulation sources...

Maybe it's a matter of educating my mind about the slightly different architecture, I should think about this plugin as if if was a small (semi)modular.

I'm not a fan of the paged layout, but at least it fits on my laptop screen. Maybe I would find more convenient to have a whole synth+controller on one page (but then the output page would be quite empty... I understand why they went for 5 pages instead of 3).

I don't know, but I have a soft spot for the Moog sound... I'm playing with the trial version at the moment... mumble mumble..

It looks like an advanced sub 37
It doesn't look like a Sub 37 at all.
indeed this has TWO synths with TWO oscillators each (and subs etc.). The Sub 37 "only" has two OSCs and a SUB.
ALSO (and this is the reason why I really wanna get it) Mariana is completely CV-pluggable with Moogerfooger effects, which are expensive but were massively on sale for black Friday, and sound AMAZING (i.e. are a great emulation of the discontinued now-super-expensive Moog effect modules). I'm reading it's a resource hogger though, which only tickles me more.. :shock:
This amount of modulation makes it far more than just a bass synth, not sure why they want to make it seem that limited

Is this the very last Moog Bass Synthesizer emulation that I'll ever need?
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

I have pretty much every soft synths in the market.
Spacing from Diva to Generate, from Arturia Emulation to Synplant 2 etc..

Now I am at home, with my gaming pc, not my music pc but not so bad.

Audio Card Scarlet, win 11 latest version, 32 gb ddr5 ram, i59600k, rtx3090, latency with Asia set to 1024 ms, at 44100hz.

Mariana 40% starting preset;
Generate 17%
UA MOOG 7%
Softube Model 72 10%

Never saw before on this machine a synth that alone goes out of 30%.

A mono synth…

I have Moog's Model D app and the VST3 wrapper for it.
It's less accurate than either of the Minimoogs from UAD and Arturia.

Whoa, how awful are you to piss off one of the nicest legends in the music biz!

What is your point? You should have picked the osc panel.
I don't think they claim it is a Minimoog emulation, but a kind of mix of various Moog synths.

I wish one didn't have to have an account just in order to demo it...

I just wanted to point out the the synth isn't optimized.

Tried with all similar synth that I have with starting preset same machine:

Arturia Modular V: 9%;
Softube Model 72: 10%;
Synapse the Legend: 9%;
UAD MOOG MINIMOOG: 7%;
Reaktor Monark: 9%;
Cherry Audio Miniverse: 10%;
U-He DIVA: 19% .

I just want to warn anyone on the fence about cpu hit since I was dismayed.

Post

On my M1 Macbook Air (8GB ram, 512GB ssd) the standalone version uses about 32%-37% cpu, but on some patches it peaks at 45% for a brief moment. Samplerate set at 44.1kHz buffer size at 512.

I wonder if it will bring to its knees my daw (a I7 7900... I'm afraid it will, especially at low latency).

The feature set looks pretty impressive judging from the link.

Nothing, really, except for its character, which is pretty unique. I put it up against a bunch of synths with Moog filters, and none of them were remotely like it, including a hardware Moog filter clone.

Its a bit wild for my taste. I dont like the presets, but I am not a preset guy anyway. I can see how this can be interesting.
