Regardless, the CPU usage for a dual layer monophonic plugin is out of control. I could add an instance of Dune 3 with everything turned on and up and still get less CPU usage than Mariana. I thought it sounded good, but not that good. If they do a code optimization, I'd consider buying it, but as it is, with the iOS interface and crazy CPU usage, I'm going to pass on it.sin night wrote: Wed Dec 06, 2023 9:22 pm So, I tried Mariana as a plugin in Ableton Live.
Spoiler/tip: don't rely just on your daw meters when it comes to performances, use the system tools.
I measured the cpu usage of Live (since Mariana is running inside it as a plugin).
When I started Ableton Live, the daw monitor shows 0% load while the system monitor reports about 7-8%
Live no Mariana.jpeg
After loading just one instance of Mariana with the "Reese JD" preset (the same as my standalone tests), Ableton reports 30% while the system reports about 48%
Live 1x Mariana.jpeg
Then I loaded a second instance with the same "Reese JD Preset". Ableton reports about the same as before (actually, it says 27% in my screen! it went down by loading a second instance!but then it went back to 30%), while the system monitor reports about 77%.

The values are comparable/compatible with what I saw in standalone mode.
I would just trust the system monitor.

I like the sound of this thing but i feel like the multiple page layout would piss me off. it's not terrible, it's usable but it just dosen't feel ergonomic. Especially having very important parameters like amp not on the same page has the oscillators.
I make electronic music - DAW of choice : Live 12

Bought it - like it. Yes, it's Moog so it's CPU hungry. Sounds great and I like the inter-moog app CV routing for modulation, along with the internal modulation (including MPE). Nice intro price and straightforward to program. Still not sure what to think about the recent change in Moog's ownership. But this is a nice synth addition both for my MacBook Pro and iPad.

I think that it was meant to be served up as a Moog Marinara, but the person writing the menu was dyslexic

Just a little thought. The fx are ILOK protected and was developed by MOOG. I bought this little mess since is inexpensive and it has a serial number protection.
imho the synth was dev by Team Air and not by previous MOOG employees due to the acquisition of the society.
Let’s see if the will update with some optimization, otherwise I had wasted 50 bucks.
Remember me the time when was launched Cyberpunk. I was so damned frustrated that my Nvidia 1080 couldn’t make it run smooth so I wasted a lot of time and money buying an RTX 3090. After some patches and optimization the game run flawlessly also with my old 1080

Moog dropped iLok from the effect plugins in an update earlier this year. You no longer need it.
