Yeah, I think the CPU usage even when not actually playing has me passing on it for now.

No the iOS version only has the AUv3 version for iOS not for macOS. Developers can't deactivate this function in Xcode

Because people are asking, Moog has its own software department headed by Geert Bevin, who is also the software developer for Roger Linn's Linnstrument. So no AIR Music or so.

Does anyone know how long the intro price is good for?

If enough people vote with their wallet: until it's somewhat optimized?

I did find out on another forum: December 31.

Ok gave the demo a try this morning

First impressions, great (and HUGE) moog sound(watch your bass bins!) ,think sub phatty / sub37 / minitaur and you really are there (I’ve previously owned all)

Pretty much stays at 38% CPU hit all the time with one instance of the plug in running but no crackles for me as of yet

Good and vast preset selection, both filters are exceptional /snappy envelopes and typically moog

But, I don’t know why but it’s not an instant buy for me as softubes and Arturias have the moog sound covered enough for me ,especially softubes

Glad to finally see moog making a plug in like this though for the masses with a no brainer intro price ,nice one moog !👍
live 11 / Arturia collection / many Softube plug ins / thats it

Ok.

Tried the Trial and quickly uninstalled it.
The gui and workflow is too messy for me + The cpu usage makes even my Roland System 8 look like a lightweight vst in comparison.

So will pass on this one.

That's because it's processing all the extra, polyphonic voices you can't hear.

Seriously though, Moog had a chance to actually offer something polyphonic under $10,000 and still couldn't manage to do it.

I want to go back and retract some of my thoughts on this synth. I do think CPU efficiency is really important, and this plugin lacks some of that. The layout might be ok for some, but the four pages are annoying to me. A larger one page layout with all parameters would have been a much wiser decision. Smaller knobs would have been fine, as you can enlarge the UI if needed. One page layout man, they missed the mark on that.

I find this synth not interesting at all. Also CPU usage is ... and the sounds you get arent exceptional.

So the point of CV interconnectivity with the Moogerfoogers is basically to add effects to the synth's internal signal chain? Can the Moogerfooger Freqbox be used to apply FM modulation to the Mariana's oscillators? I'd guess not, since from the demo video it seems to just allow input to modulate the Freqbox's VCO oscillator... but perhaps output from that can be used to modulate Mariana's oscillators? And I guess an unlimited number of instances of Freqbox can be CV connected, to provide as many FM oscillators as you want?...

Is the cpu efficiency of the Moogerfooger effects similarly bad? Which Moogerfoogers best extend Mariana's capabilities better than non-CV interconnected plugins would?

I don't think I signed up for a free trial, but I got an email saying my trial for the Moogerfooger effects ends soon. I definitely didn't install them, and Moog's website tells me I didn't create an account (email not recognized when I try "forgot password"). Then again the email address says "newsletter"... but it would be utterly bizarre for them to send that out as a newsletter.
