Be careful using the inmusic site, when i try to use their new downloader, it takes me to inmusic to log in and then tries to portscan my computer. Not something you should allow really, borderline hacking into you computer to track you across the net.
Same thing happens when i try to use my bfd3, i try to login and they try to portscan me there as well.

No iLok key (dongle) required but unless I missed some big news, all their old plugins still require the iLok license manager to be installed.Rational wrote: Fri Dec 08, 2023 11:37 pm So it seems Air Music Tech no longer uses iLok?
I'd lost one of my ilok2 dongles a few years back and finally requested all vendors to renew them. Only Air music tech failed to respond out of all of them. But now I realize it's perhaps because they no longer support ilok?
I recently got their free bassline and they have a new centralized plugin downloader app for PC.
So for those who still like Air's stuff, you may wish to grab this upgrade option to renew everything under their new licensing platform: https://www.jrrshop.com/air-music-tech- ... te-upgrade
It now says this at the bottom of the sales page:
Internet access (Download and Authorization)
Notes: No iLok key required
I don't think their new plugins require iLok in any form but I haven't followed them very closely in recent times.
If they did (finally) update their old plugins like Hybrid 3 or XPand!2 even if it's just to rid them of iLok I might consider purchasing an upgrade but I don't think that has happened. Wouldn't mind to be proven wrong though.
But unless they updated the plugin sizes (which has been requested by a lot of people for many years) they'll still be hard to use at modern monitor resolutions.

This has me wondering if a new scheme is afoot. Just downloaded the Moog apps and while it showed no indication of iLok, it did immediately open up a request to open up system networks. And when iLok dropped the dongle, it also changed the software license to insert itself into the OS resources so you wouldn't see that it was actually PACE using it like it did in the earlier versions. Amounting to the same thing under a new deception. Thing is, once it gets into those OS resources, they're not removed by uninstalling the "Trojan" app. And in this age, parasitical programs are something I'm hyper vigilant about.Kypresso wrote: Sat Dec 09, 2023 5:11 am Be careful using the inmusic site, when i try to use their new downloader, it takes me to inmusic to log in and then tries to portscan my computer. Does anyone here use Sound Forge and/or Vegas? Seems like a no-brainer price.reusenoise wrote: Thu Dec 07, 2023 10:46 am Humble Bundle Creative Frontier:Vegas pro;Magix Musicmaker 2022;Sound Forge pro + 3sound pool packs € 22,98 (or pay more if you want) https://www.humblebundle.com/software/v ... warebundle

Vegas is great. It's Vegas Pro Edit though, so, there are a few features missing (not many though, and, in my case, nothing I would ever need. I think the base functionality is exactly the same as Pro, but, there are a few additional effects and programs with the Pro version). But, Soundforge is the full version.
Get it, it's a no-brainer for that price.

If you only need one of the programs, ppl are also selling these programs separately on knobcloud for even less. Likely they bought humble bundle for sole purpose of reselling in pieces...

To me it's only a good deal if Vegas Pro alone is worth the price for you.
Not a big fan of Soundforge here (never liked the work flow) and keep in mind that you aren't allowed to use any of the soundpool samples in a commecial publication - included is only a private use license.

Vegas Pro Edit is the name of the full version of Vegas Pro. The only other feature limited version is Vegas Movie Studio. The more expensive Vegas bundles that Magix puts together includes Vegas Pro Edit bundled with a bunch of other software etc.

I've used SoundForge since v1, and am currently at v11. Predominately for recording, rough editing using markers, and super easy group-exporting of those 'regions', and for batch processing. I don't care for the new icons they're using, but will probably pick this up at this stupid low price.Examigan wrote: Sat Dec 09, 2023 8:28 pm

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

There are no features missing, it is the exact same version of vegas pro than in the suite and post packages, the difference is the number of bundled software.chk071 wrote: Sat Dec 09, 2023 8:40 pm Vegas is great. Well... in some way...
Simply play the "samples" you need using a MIDI track in your DAW, export, done. Your Kontakt samples are now a WAV file. Repeat as long as you need more.
Then you may indeed need Sound Forge if you have a lot of samples as it supports batch cutting, any treatment applying and conversions. It can turn a whole WAV of chromatic notes (a full instrument layer if you prefer) by using a region mask or auto-region function (so it detects each note itself and prepares cutting), then batch export and finally auto-trim/crop WAV per WAV automatically to suppress low noise at the beginning + end. In a couple of clicks your WAV becomes 81 perfectly cut samples ready to use in any sampler.
If you only have a few samples in your full WAV, Sound Forge is useful too. Simply select the wave of the sample : ctrl+x, ctrl+e will paste the sound in a new window. Just cut the beginning and the end as you wish (or use the auto-trim/crop function) and hit ctrl+s when done, name the file. Repeat. We’re talking about a couple of seconds here : light is just flashing on your screen as you’re working.
This is exactly how I prepare my own patches when needed, mainly when my lead eats all my CPU from he beginning, or when I want to combine huge libraries that my hard disks can’t play together properly in time.
There’s another quick way : Melda MRecorder (I think it’s part of the free pack). Simply insert it on your Kontakt track, record, play what you need, stop recording. Then you may edit the file with whatever you want, including Sound Forge. I work this way mainly for drums.
PS : I’m working with Sound Forge every day since v6 I believe.
