Hi,

According to this video:
I can use Mdrummer via midi out to drive other drum machines. I have tried this in Harrison Mixbus and does not work. I then tried Ableton Live. Also no go. I have put Mdrummer on one track, then loaded another drum machine on a second track. Routed the input from track 2 to receive midi from track one and there is NO midi data going in to the other drum machine. In fact, I can detect NO midi going out of Mdrummer. I can however use a Korg Nanopad2 to send midi in to Mdrummer, that midi signal WILL go out to the other drum machine. Only when I choose a Rythm from the quick setup in Mdrummer or start a song structure there is simply no midi going out of Mdrummer to the other drum machine. What am I doing wrong? This happens in both Harrison Mixbus 7 and Ableton Live 9.

Regards,

Thrl

I have also had issues with Mixbus 8 and this. I ended up dragging the MIDI out of the song editor onto the new track

Well I have the same issue in Ableton Live. And dragging the midi to the track is a way around it, BUT you loose the flexibility of using midi commands and changing little things in the arrangements. That was the whole idea of buying and using Mdrummer. I have put several midi monitors in the signal path. On the in and out. Both on the channel Mdrummer is on and the receiving other midi drum machine. There is absolutely NO midi signal going in or out. That is -> nothing going out Mdrummer and nothing coming in to the other drum machine. The video clearly shows that it works. And especially in Ableton Live you can connect anythint to anything. And setting up routing is very easy. I fail to see where I would make a mistake there.

And also the same issue in Logic pro X.

I must be doing something wrong. I just fail to see what. I've looked at that video above. The midi out tutorial from Melda, read the manual. It is simply not working.

I tried it. Works well in Bitwig 4.4.8 using two tracks. One track MDrummer set up as Chandler did in the video. The other track, Handy Drums Pop Brushes. The MDrummer track notes output is set to the Handy Drums and that's it.

Done. Voilà. (*)

Maybe this can give a clue about how to do it in other DAWs.

Alternatively to the above but more specific to Bitwig, is the addition of a Note Receiver on the track before the MIDI drum module and set it to MDrummer. That way it's easier to combine sounds from both MDrummer and the MIDI drum module while still using MDrummer's rhythm sequencer ... and MIDI-driven pattern playing since the MIDI notes from the track are still getting to MDrummer.

You'll have to check in your specific DAW to find out what works. In Reaper it passes midi to the next plugin automatically. In other DAWs you might have to send the midi another way and make sure the DAW is actually transmitting midi from the plugin.

I can't get this to work in Tracktion Waveform 12.5
I've put Mdrummer on a separate track with the midi notes to trigger the rhythm engine. I put MODO drum on a separate track to receive midi from Mdrummer. It still doesn't play MODO drum when I press play in my DAW. I can see the meter on the MODO Drum track moving to the beat, but no midi coming out of MODO drum.
If I stop my DAW, and press the play button in Mdrummer. It plays MODO Drum. Just not when I press play in my DAW. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I've spent hours and days trying to figure this out.
