How is this possible? I mean i create one "socalled" drumkit in stepsequencer (yes i know about FPC but it is not suitable for me). With about 10 channels. Samples loaded, tunning, panning etc.etc.

So my question is can i copy this to another project?

Ok maybe this is realy easy, but i cant see how can be done so sorry for stupid question :?

Any help... :-o

Send all the step sequences to the piano roll then export project bones. You can then drag and drop all the channels, fx, scores back into a new project from the sample browser. Unfortunately exporting project bones doesn't include step sequences.

if im understaing the question of the step sequencer(i call it the paino roll) just save the pattern

Well, if you mean the actual setup of the drums themselves -

If you make a Layer channel and set all the Sampler channels to be children of it, then save the Layer channel, you will be able to get the "drumkit" back just by loading up that Layer again.

If you mean you want to save the pattern itself, that's a different question. As far as I know, you can't save actual step sequences. You would have to do "Split Children" on the layer, then from the piano roll of each of the Children channels copy and paste to the Layer channel, then save the score.

Or, uh, easier: just bounce the whole pattern to WAV.

Personally, I think it's more useful to use a drumsampler or something if you want specified kits. What I love about FL's step sequencer is that you just browse and load whatever samples you feel like and quickly and easily program up any drum pattern you wish on the fly, which you can then easily copy and paste and make variations on in different patterns. But that rant is almost totally irrelevant.

Wow, cool. This may solve a particular problem for me -- I have projects full of just drum loops that I want to use in other projects, plus I have some midi drum loops that are organized as songs with 10-16 tracks of drum loops. Now I can browse them individually without having to go through the import midi file browser (and click channel 10 every time). Excellent!
And all life's fears
Can invade my ears
I can handle it

this is absolutly the way to go. I have made whole samplers out of the layer thing (tho not velocity sensitive, who give a damn!) and saved the layer states. its a great little trick if you have a bunch of upright bass samples from CM or something of that sort

Can you guys please clarify what you mean by saving just the layer or saving the layer state? Do you just mean save a project .flp that has nothing but the layer and it's children, as a sort of template? It sounds like you mean something else. Sounds useful, too, but I'm not able to figure out what you mean by looking around in FL.

Do you mean there's a way to save layers independently of a project, so that I can have a project with, say, synth parts down, and then just *poof* import the layer and now all my drum parts in the saved layer are now there in the step sequencer as a new layer? Even if it was just the MIDI this would be cool, but if it was the MIDI and the samplers/generators and all that it would be super cool.

Thanks.

when you have your layter controlling all your samples all nice how you want it, click the square icon in the top left of the sampler properties and select "save layer state as"
then you can drag that saved state into the step sequencer and have all your samples, ect, mapped out all how you want them. to save actuall notes and such, you need to save these as seperate scores and import them once youve got the layer loaded into your project

Sweet, I didn't know you could do that. Hopefully I'll remember! Thanks. :)
