I’m interested in VV. (if it has ducking).

I’m pretty surprised by that omission.
The demo’s sound lush though.

Not sure why this isn't standard on reverbs, so i still have to sidechain compressors. Annoying but not that bad really

I have recently been playing with gated reverbs, and I actually find Room better than Vintage Verb for this, especially the Nostromo algorithm. I also find Room fabulous with the new Space parameter for beautifully long ambient reverb tails.

It's a joke about all the recent reverb threads and plugins. Everything is all reverb all the time here.

People seem to complain about too little choice of reverb plugins today.kPere wrote: Sat Dec 16, 2023 1:43 pmOh all right, what abour it though - what did I miss that everythings a reverb nowFunkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Fri Dec 15, 2023 8:49 pmIt's a joke about all the recent reverb threads and plugins. Maybe some dev will release another reverb one day...

People don't care for ducking reverbs, and lo and behold if you peekaboo the track record of the music history (pick any genre) for the past say 25 years (starting 5 years ago) no one ever mentioned ducking a reverb nor did the track failed to reach charts because someone forgot to use or turn on a duck in reverb.
If you don't trust me go look yourself.
So if you are still unsure why this is not a standard these days it is because it was never a standard to begin with.
It is a mindset of stupid people wanting "that last feature" in the product. It also happens that most of these people somehow think "it is easy to implement" as well.

This, basically - it might be useful in certain situations (even though personally I've never used it once), but then there's cartainly ways around the lack of in-built ducking (e.g. the free Waves StudioRack comes to mind - if you insist on using the reverb as an insert, that is).
But I want to nonetheless add that the argument "it didn't exist in the past, so there's no need for it" is of course an inherently stupid one though - before cars were invented people were just fine using horses, coaches and trains instead (and at some point of course just walking did the trick too), also, obviously - the same argument would speak against the use of DAWs, plugins in general and - if you think about it - actually the use of computers in general/at all - and a whole lot of other stuff (such as the controlled use of fire for instance - why don't you eat your meat raw anyway?).
When I complain about a DAW still not supporting ARA (as if it was 2010) people often use the same argument, which always gets on my nerves big time - it's such a dumb non-argument really.

Yeah - Sean has the code now - in Valhalla Delay - but it doesn't really work too well anyway, as the envelopes are all wrong (to the point of not being very useful at all)... dynamic tools are just not Sean's forte at all it seems.kmonkey wrote: Sun Dec 17, 2023 7:30 am It also happens that most of these people somehow think "it is easy to implement" as well.

I use ducking all the time, and that's a big factor in me mainly using Liquidsonics reverbs. I also like to separate early and late stages, which is why I tend to use VR over VVV.kmonkey wrote: Sun Dec 17, 2023 7:30 am People don't care for ducking reverbs, and lo and behold if you peekaboo the track record of the music history (pick any genre) for the past say 25 years (starting 5 years ago) no one ever mentioned ducking a reverb nor did the track failed to reach charts because someone forgot to use or turn on a duck in reverb.

A lot of things weren’t used and available. Guess what, Mozart didn’t even use a DAW!kmonkey wrote: Sun Dec 17, 2023 7:30 amPeople don't care for ducking reverbs, and lo and behold if you peekaboo the track record of the music history (pick any genre) for the past say 25 years (starting 5 years ago) no one ever mentioned ducking a reverb nor did the track failed to reach charts because someone forgot to use or turn on a duck in reverb.

ikr I couldn’t believe, kids these days can’t make a chart topper without a daw and here’s mozart rockng it with pen and paper. And not even a ballpen to boot!
A form of ducking was used regardless - if use reverb pre-compression dry signal will dip the wet sound. It’s been used plenty historically and a lot of engineers use it today.

Hence your name….
Ducking is standard in a large percentage of reverb and delay plugins.

No ducking in a plugin?! *laughs in Bitwig/Live*
Always Read the Manual!
