How to route PC key events to plugins' native UIs?

I need to enter exact numerical values for certain LV2 plugin's parameters. This seems impossible with Waveform's built-in parameter editor interface, however the native UI of the plugin does offer this possibility. Unfortunately this relies on the plugin UI's ability to receive key events like Backspace, Delete and left/right arrows. Those are however handled by Waveform: Delete happily deletes the plugin instance, arrows operate the transport, etc.

Is there a way to overcome this, something like Ardour's green keyboard icon in the top right corner of a plugin window?

I would have expected it to work as long as the plug-in is highlighted. You could alter the shortcuts under settings, but I can see how that would soon get messy if you change a lot of them.

What exactly do you mean by highlighted?

Well, it would probably have to be current main GUI on display. I have no idea whether this would help, and it's not always going to be convenient to have a specific plug-in GUI on top of the DAW.
