Yeah this, not sure why developers feel the need to limit the number of voices with 2023 technology. At least give the option to turn on higher polyphony for those of us that want it.Odd Fella wrote: Tue Dec 19, 2023 6:39 pm It looks nice. But 8 voices would have been better than 6. I already hated the 6-voice limit on Tal's Noizemaker. The two additional voices can make a big difference with pads.

+1 strange limitation to consciously impose. but, they also impose that odd 7 day demo limit... maybe they want to limit sales.seangm wrote: Tue Dec 19, 2023 7:04 pmYeah this, not sure why developers feel the need to limit the number of voices with 2023 technology. The sounds demo'd in there are really great, I have to say. Gforce really stepped up their factory preset game with this one, and the overall sound the instrument is impressive!

Listened to it, bought it!
tbh, at that intro price, it's a no-brainer purchase.
Same old Gforce (both good and bad).
Good:
• Great-sounding plugins (most insta-buys for existing Gforce customers)/
• Great-looking/scalable GUIs (when not trying to ape Arturia too hard, like the dreaded SEM v1.6 update, subsequently corrected in v1.6.1 mere weeks later).
• Great modern preset organisation/browsing system (in their most recent updated products at least).
• Great value. Especially when on sale. Which they perhaps are a little too often these days. And I feel as though Gforce wouldn't need nearly as many sales, if they corrected some of the following 'trial/demo' issues...
EDIT: Gforce corrected my ignorant assumption, that the AXXESS demo would have their usual restrictions for the demo. As mentioned above, I bought the plugin without demoing it, so I probably shouldn't have assumed that.
So in short, I have no VALID bad points. Instead, I'll just paste Gforce Software's correction here, so as not to confuse other readers, who come across this comment.
• Illogical alpha patch designation and limitations (not showcasing full potential to new Gforce virgins - less of an issue to existing customers, but still!)
• Very stingy time restrictions to trial plugins. Puts unnecessary pressure on potential customers, instead of allowing people to trial products at a more leisurely pace / other life-commitments, etc.)

Bad (trial/demo limitations):GforceSoftware: AXXESS Demo is not limited to Alpha nor 4h (as other instruments). AXXESS demo gives access to all 350+ patches and runs for 7 days.

I hate it when an installation routine asks where to install *programm name*. I never know what exactly they mean. The VST or what? Then one can select what one wants to install, then it asks for the VST folder.

Sorry, I meant that if you already own Oddity 3, do you essentially already have this?

The knobs are not so great, I hardly see the marker.
The basses are not good, either, virtually nothing useful for me. I guess those sound designers have a very different idea what bass means.
The effects seem to spill over to the next patch loaded. Especially the reverb. I noticed when I switched from Grand Central PWM to another patch.

Think you can change that in the prefs.Odd Fella wrote: Tue Dec 19, 2023 9:03 pm The effects seem to spill over to the next patch loaded. Especially the reverb. I noticed when I switched from Grand Central PWM to another patch.

So Axxess sounds exactly like the Oddity in terms of filter and oscillators? My Oddity demo expired a while ago.Vortifex wrote: Tue Dec 19, 2023 2:07 pm This has limited appeal as an Oddity 3 owner. At least don't gimp the polyphony down from 16 voices to 6, what's the point of doing that? (yeah the original was monophonic but Oddity has 16 voices and that was based on a duophonic synth) Don't need the sequencer as that's what my DAW is.
Identical to Oddity in tonality/character as far as single waveforms are concerned. The difference comes when adding the extra waveform, as Axxess doesn't have the same dual oscillator tuning characteristics as Oddity. Still sounds nice with that juicy filter and the modulation options.
Shame that the Arp synths don't really translate well to skeuomorphic plugin design. The fonts are always too small and fuzzy, and my brain can never quite intuitively remember where everything is. I find myself squinting thinking "Where's the feckin' LFO again??"

While I don't doubt what other people are saying about this, I personally have not been able to duplicate the Axxess patches in Oddity. For example, Axxess's default patch Throatpunch City sounds completely different in Oddity.Korg Supporter wrote: Tue Dec 19, 2023 11:17 pm So Axxess sounds exactly like the Oddity in terms of filter and oscillators?
