A breaking change could affect dozens of plugins today, there isn't any extra meaningful risk.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Mon Dec 18, 2023 6:27 pmNot keen. Every company could still have their own portal. The universal would be separate. If the universal breaks, you still have a backup option.
Just like with Arturia. Even if you don't want to use their portal, they offer individual exe installers for each plugin.
The universal app would saves a lot of hassle though, if there were one. Which I'm not ever expecting there to be one. But I can dream.

They could call it Egg Basket. “All of your favorite plugins in one centralized single point of failure.”

Haha. I understand you're not convinced. But the portals all just work here. No issues. The only issue I have is having so many different portals.masterhiggins wrote: Mon Dec 18, 2023 9:37 pmThey could call it Egg Basket. “All of your favorite plugins in one centralized single point of failure.”
Having a centralized portal would be super! One login, link your accounts, and away you go.

No that's not the same at all.
I'm saying take all the existing portal services and link them together in a single portal app.
Ilok could be a part of this if they want though. Right long with Arturia, IKM, NI, and the rest. They'd all have a separate section in the portal for each brand. But you'd only need one portal app download with one login account to reach all of them.
I'd not want this to get rid of all the separate portals, this would run in addition to them, for those that wish to tidy up things. Essentially it would tie into the download and licensing services behind the scenes of those individual portals.
It's just a dream though. But I think quite a nice one. I am rather annoyed at all the individual portals on my machine.

If someone doesn't want to use the free AAS soundpack in the mail today, I would like to take it.
If you plan on purchasing your first Universal Audio hardware, you can get a free additional plugin. Just send a PM.

Is it still possible to buy a Bitwig upgrade product from a third party [ JRRSHOP ) and activate it at a later date so as to get a full year of upgrades from the activation date? It is on sale now and I know I won’t be able to start using it until about March. Thanks for any information.

Yes. I've done it several times. When I asked Bitwig they told me you could keep the update planunused for at least a year. Mine is now unused for 18 months, I'll activate it in 2024.Scotty wrote: Wed Dec 20, 2023 12:31 pm Is it still possible to buy a Bitwig upgrade product from a third party [ JRRSHOP ) and activate it at a later date so as to get a full year of upgrades from the activation date?
