Is it still possible to buy a Bitwig upgrade product from a third party [ JRRSHOP ) and activate it at a later date so as to get a full year of upgrades from the activation date? It is on sale now and I know I won’t be able to start using it until about March. Thanks for any information.

Yes. I've done it several times. When I asked Bitwig they told me you could keep the update planunused for at least a year. Mine is now unused for 18 months, I'll activate it in 2024.

I bought my renewal plan a few months ago and was just getting ready to register it, but noticed I'm actually losing the amount of instruments included when they decided to make it an Essential license rather than just the 16-track I use now. (Drops from 91 down to 40?) And I'm having a hard time finding a comparison list between those two to figure that out. And although I haven't really used them, I started to play with the organ and think some of the additional effects needed to make it a transitor type may be no longer included. So I have to research more to figure out their new scheme in getting me to buy more than I want or need just to keep what I do or may. And it does nag you on start up every time to install what is useless to me even now without a way to stop that.

I hate this "needling".

In this case I am keeping the same level of plan (that is the game plan) which is the Bitwig Studio version but just sitting on the upgrade. Going from 3.x Studio to 5x Studio.

You can also buy directly from Bitwig as a "gift" and put in your own email to get an upgrade plan code that you can register whenever you want. If the price is equal I'd recommend this so 100% of the money goes to support Bitwig.

Personally I'd rather support Bitwig directly than save 14 bucks since they're pretty niche and I'd very much like them to make enough to continue to develop the DAW, but I do like to buy during a sale and hold on to the code for later. For that the Bitwig shop gift option works just as well as buying from a reseller. It's an option at least.

Same here for the upgrade pricing.

My upgrade pricing is 149 (without having V Collection already, but having Pigments and FX Collection) so maybe only worth it if you have some of their other products and that's your situation.

Ok, I've just seen that Arturia just released the V Collection X (10) jaja. I bought the v8 and I'm waiting for the license. I have Pigments only and my "SPECIAL OFFER" is a Crossgrade to V Collection X for $399..

I hope the price will drop when I register the V collection 8 in my account.
