I don't know who to love more - Apple or NI
Sad state of Native Instruments

I've installed win10 on a quite old pc and started working on a few old projects. While most plugins still load fine, literally every project has some issue with NI plugins. Reaktor is the worst. For example I've used monark a few years ago in reaktor5. If I install reaktor5 and monark wit NI access I only get the newest monark which only works with reaktor6. You can download the old version of the monark ensemble somewhere on the NI site (if you find it). Reaktor5 can load that, but you get an "expired" splashscreen. If you try to activate, you get "Service Center not found". Can you even install it if Access is already there? What a great user experience! So easy!
Battery keeps failing to load samples from its own library, although the library is configured and can be used without issues in Batterys library tab. I look at the missing sample path, then click locate and point to the exact same folder and suddenly it works. OK.
It also baffles me that it's 2023 and there is still no feature to lock/protect cells from editing. And no undo function. yeah...
Adding every of my 50 Kontakt libs that were already installed on a second drive one by one to Kontakt because there doesn't seem to be a bulk locate in Access or Kontakt really was a lot of fun too.

Native Instruments is moving in a way that a lot of us don't want I think.
I'm not exclusively interested in ensembles and nki s
I spent like $2500 aud on plugs in 2005-2009,
and the ones I care about most are left to be only demos
...I can however read their direction,
which could be called utilizing strengths or having a tidy product line,
which happens in industry sometimes

Another Xmas gift this year seems to be a £45 voucher but you have to spend at least £90…pity it’s a minimum spend or I may have upgraded to GR7…
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

OK, so, you need to be planning on buying something from NI during the sale for it to be of value. But it depends what you get. I just bought Massive X for £64. Using the voucher, I was able to add Fables as an upgrade, as I already had Lores, for completely free. I'd take those 2 for £64 over Arturia's freebie any day. Plenty of other great freebies to be had, or at least £45 off towards at NI, if you own stuff to qualify for upgrades and crossgrades.
Until forever fades away.

I have Ultimate 13 so not so much for me, already upgraded Kontakt to 7 in a past sale, GR7 is probably the only upgrade I don't have but this voucher doesn't help as the upgrade is only £71!Choikdoi wrote: Fri Dec 22, 2023 8:03 am OK, so, you need to be planning on buying something from NI during the sale for it to be of value. Can't seem to get the voucher to work no matter what I do. It does include sale items this time, right? I put in Schema & Valves which takes me over the limit, but I keep getting voucher not valid box

Same here. It looks like it's only an EU problem. If you change the country to US and enter the US-voucher everything works as expected.ians wrote: Fri Dec 22, 2023 1:16 pm Can't seem to get the voucher to work no matter what I do. Guess I could buy an upgrade to SuperchargerGT for £12.50 (although I already have it).

This is where all this stuff gets ridiculous (and will ultimately be unsustainable). I had the iZoptpe music production bundle before the Merger, I also Had Komplete Ultimate...now they are just swapping products around in bundles (most of which I have) and saying its an update! Great value for new users, old users (especially of both) get little value.ghettosynth wrote: Fri Dec 22, 2023 1:55 pmGR7 is in the isotope music production bundle.SLiC wrote: Fri Dec 22, 2023 9:08 amI have Ultimate 13 so not so much for me, already upgraded Kontakt to 7 in a past sale, GR7 is probably the only upgrade I don't have but this voucher doesn't help as the upgrade is only £71!Choikdoi wrote: Fri Dec 22, 2023 8:03 am OK, so, you need to be planning on buying something from NI during the sale for it to be of value.
