DaVinci Resolve is a great product. 100% worth promoting.

I agree it's a great product. I don't really know what the difference for my viewers would be, to be honest.
On an iOS device, it was quite problematic to block ads on Youtube (Safari was impossible, gmail atrocious) so I'm a Premium subscriber seeing no ads for a few yrs now.

A company that requires my phone number to DL their product can bite me. It's too bad because it does look like a good tool to use.

Not quite sure what puzzles me more: the fact that you are not willing to make up a fake phone number to download an industry leading software for free, or the fact that you are still caring about your phone number.

You might want to double check your mid-roll ad breaks and manage them manually. YouTube has an algorithm to figure out where to put ads automatically, but that rarely works well. And if all your ad breaks are at the end of the video and nothing in the first 15 minutes, 100k views is not going to give you any return.Uncle E wrote: Mon Dec 04, 2023 2:59 am One of my videos has 100K views. It didn't impact my subscriber count or bank account in any significant way.

Dupont are you paying attention to this? It's a good example of one deciding to do away with going with the mainstream based on principle (regardless if that principle is or isnt supported by the majority).mgw38 wrote: Tue Dec 05, 2023 12:48 am Not quite sure what puzzles me more: the fact that you are not willing to make up a fake phone number to download an industry leading software for free, or the fact that you are still caring about your phone number.![]()
On one end you have one who decides to avoid using software -free or not- based on principle versus one who doesn't give a f**k so long as they have the latest and greatest industry standard hollywood hot-shot application and better yet free of charge.
I could give a fake number like probably the majority do but that's besides the point which is *why* is a company requiring peoples' phone number? Are they going to hound people with spam texts? That wouldn't last in the long haul so why they require a number, I don't know.
They'll observe the majority give a fake number and then what? Have it so in the future their software can only be activated by phone?? Again, I don't know and I trust nobody.
So I made a decision not to follow the herd on a piece of software - based on my own orinciple - just like you (dupont) can make a decision not to support a major conglomerate like Youtube - based on your own principle.
This was my initial point. A company doesn't need to conform to individual principles and at the other end we don't have to support it.

Indeed: if everyone is promoted, nobody is promoted.vurt wrote: Sun Dec 03, 2023 7:47 pm id love it if youtube did push everyone, but can see why that's not possible even if they wanted ro.

I made 5 million dollars one year off Youtube ads, my videos are watched by Japanese women who know what's good.
I recommend you sell your soul for cold hard cash, after all the good stuff's expensive.

Yep, I have to pay about $80 a year to vimeo to not be exploited by ads and other bullshit for some work related stuff. For that, what I get is fairly limited. YouTube is not an unreasonable choice if you want to easily upload safe content for the world to enjoy.vurt wrote: Sun Dec 03, 2023 7:47 pm i see it as free storage.
it's up to you to publicise, take this thread, about your dj sets, where you failed to drop a link.

YouTube is basically trying to sell you advertising, of yourself. Only you can decide if that's worth $200 every 90 days. Does it do something for you of value? Does it do more than you could do yourself given that you'd have to spend time doing it?
Go watch a few episodes of Shark Tank and see how much people spend these days to promote their bullshit on social media. It's a racket, for sure, but you have to pay the cost to be the boss.
