They do - but as they use iLok, the iLok transfer fee and 90 day wait apply.VitaminD wrote: Wed Dec 27, 2023 4:43 pm Softube support finally responded saying, "Unfortunately, that isn't possible. Once a code has been successfully used, it can't be used again."
So I guess softube doesn't allow license transfers either?

Yes so softube don't do the license transfers, it's ilok through the ilok app. I guess that's the way softube support washes their hands clean of the matter. I was hoping they could get around that.. but the answer is a firm no.cptgone wrote: Wed Dec 27, 2023 4:47 pmThey do - but as they use iLok, the iLok transfer fee and 90 day wait apply.VitaminD wrote: Wed Dec 27, 2023 4:43 pm Softube support finally responded saying, "Unfortunately, that isn't possible. It's a consequence of Softube using iLok.VitaminD wrote: Wed Dec 27, 2023 6:02 pmYes so softube don't do the license transfers, it's ilok through the ilok app. I guess that's the way softube support washes their hands clean of the matter. Now available free for Mac users – no UA hardware required.
I was wondering what LUNA was so I had a look. It's for Mac users only so it's probably a very advanced DAW.![]()

I'm thinking of getting that Humble Bundle deal with Sound Forge and Vegas. It's not much in $$, but I'm not really sure how useful those two would be in my case.
I guess at that price it's worthwhile, and I'd find a use for them.
The other deal I'm still pondering is Pigments 3 for $49.

you will certainly get Pigments 4 for it, because Pigments is Pigments (ahum) and all updates (versions) were free, and shall be free, i assume.Examigan wrote: Wed Dec 27, 2023 7:47 pm I'm thinking of getting that Humble Bundle deal with Sound Forge and Vegas. a great synth.
if you don't own an audio editor like Wavelab Pro (or some editor like Wavelab), Sound Forge Pro is an excellent substitute, for the price.
and Sound Forge Pro 15 has ARA(2).... that is why i bought it.
which Wavelab Pro hasn't, it hasn't ARA, but still own it...
but version 12 of Wavelab will be itself an ARA extension......
well this is clear....
but Sound Forge 15 pro as an audio editor is an excellent editor.

I can't say how much you would use them, of course, but, for me, it's a no-brainer. Vegas is well worth that price alone.Examigan wrote: Wed Dec 27, 2023 7:47 pm I'm thinking of getting that Humble Bundle deal with Sound Forge and Vegas. If you get the Humble Bundle don't forget that you can adjust your donation so more of it goes to charity.

Vegas was for many years very buggy and troublesome, especially while Sony molested itchk071 wrote: Wed Dec 27, 2023 8:13 pmI can't say how much you would use them, of course, but, for me, it's a no-brainer. Has Magix totally turned the ship around since then ?
What, of importance, does it offer that free Resolve does not ?
Free Davinci Resolve, evt cheap paid version with Fusion included, seems more popular / defacto

NLE's are even more time-consuming than DAWS, so most important is to choose right from start
Anyway the Edit version of Vegas is the most basic version, but maybe a basis for later upgrade

TBH, I can't offer your an answer to either question. I'm not a power user, and, for the occasional video edit I do, Vegas Edit has always been stable for me. And, I don't know Resolve at all. All that I know is that Vegas Edit is very easy to use, so that even such a dummie like me can use it without having to resort to the manual at all.HM wrote: Thu Dec 28, 2023 10:09 amVegas was for many years very buggy and troublesome, especially while Sony molested itchk071 wrote: Wed Dec 27, 2023 8:13 pmI can't say how much you would use them, of course, but, for me, it's a no-brainer. The core program is the same so it's not lacking in the way that the free version of Resolve is.HM wrote: Thu Dec 28, 2023 10:09 am Anyway the Edit version of Vegas is the most basic version, but maybe a basis for later upgrade
Edit just lacks some additional add-on tools and 3rd party extras.
The higher versions are irrelevant for many people.
