Soundtoys Plugins still not resizable?!?! "there are no plans currently to implement resizable GUIs for our plug-ins"

I was thinking about getting PrimalTap while it’s on sale because I’d like a Lexicon Prime Time model. However I’ve seen some comparison videos between them, and it seems like it’s not really as close as it could be.

Also, I already own PSP Lexicon 42.

What do you guys think?

Is PrimalTap more capable of “bizarre sounds” than Lexicon 42?

If so, is that only because of Prime Time/PrimalTap’s freeze function, or is there more to it than that?

Yes, the freeze has a lot to do with it. I haven't had enough time with Lexicon to go for those kind of sounds, tough.

Next question (and more directly on topic), does anyone know if SoundToys charges for full version updates?

Like if I were to purchase PrimalTap at $39 now, and then they released version 6 with resizable UI, would I have to pay for the update?

Primal Tap is a weird one for sure. Aside from the freeze, there's the multiplier options too to really mess up and degrade the signal. I tend to use the PSP42 or a digital delay in EchoBoy as my 'regular' delay bus, but when I need something 'different' Primal Tap is the one..

No clue about the update policy though. I don't think they've released a new version of any of them in the time I've owned the whole suite. Only new plugin that's been released since I bought it was Super Plate..

@Jamcat - I've used Primal Tap; it's ok. Adds something different when you want a bit of sparkle. IMO.
