again they are aware of it, but it reads and sounds like it might take a WHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILE, if at all...

guys, yeah having a bigger monitor is kinda nice but also shitty! i reached out to soundtoys and they are aware of the NON Resizable GUIs but quote "there are no plans currently to implement resizable GUIs for our plug-ins"..... wow. i love their plugins but thats a bummer

Why would things be smaller on a bigger monitor?
I think what you mean is a screen with a higher resolution. If you have the same resolution on a bigger screen things get bigger as compared to a smaller one (but you typically also have to sit further away from the monitor, so that kind of compensates for it).

For plugin's I am interested in, I generally have only two "deal-breaker" hurdles for any potential purchase:
(A) If they include any intricate controls, they MUST also have rescalable GUIs.
(B) They MUST NOT mandate the use of iLok (of any kind).
So long as they pass both of these two simple requirements, they're all good in my book, and get the 'green light' for the checkout.

Some crazy people like to run 4k monitors without OS scaling, and then have all their apps do scaling instead.
It's become a thing. Nothing we can do to stand in the way of it!
PS. It's not had much press but BigKick now has scaling - download the latest build from Plugin Boutique.

even if you use os scaling vsts dont necessarily scale with it. i sold my soundtoys complete license, like the tools but i thought they are not fun to use, one of my main criteria, that black on black is barely ledgible, not resizable and odd layouts.

They haven’t developed anything new in over 4 years, it doesn’t surprise me. Who knows what they’ve been doing in that time, not a lot by the looks of things

I have no problem so far with the UI size of the soundtoys plugins, but some of the older versions (echoboy etc) are no fun to use because of fuzzy graphics/fonts and usability. The newer and the simpler plugins (microshift, LittlePlate, PrimalTap) are no problem. But then I don’t have a 4k screen (don’t want one)

What really surprised me just the other day is that the Rack doesn't include the plate reverb. Anyone knows why?

The full/big version of the Plate reverb has not been released yet. Same goes for little Alterboy. So far it's only the full versions that are available in Effects Rack.DrGonzo wrote: Fri Mar 04, 2022 7:28 am What really surprised me just the other day is that the Rack doesn't include the plate reverb. Why do they need to? They have a set of first class industry go-to plug ins. I’m sure they have turkey every ChristmasRobGee wrote: Fri Feb 25, 2022 12:54 pm They haven’t developed anything new in over 4 years, it doesn’t surprise me. Considering the op was commenting on the lack of updates for resizable gui I think it’s fair to say he was being optimistic considering there’s been no new developments in over 4 years.ramseysounds wrote: Sat Mar 05, 2022 1:08 pmWhy do they need to? They’ve not even released full versions of little plate or alterboy. Let alone the vast amount of other improvements they could add. I mean why bother updating or improving anything?

I mean why not just use what there is rather than constant belly aching of what you think they should do. There’s literally 1000’s of plug ins out there
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

Soundtoys is one of the original "one off" devs: Devs that release a product and only do minimal to no updates until the product is abandoned. Seems this is a hard pill to swallow but there are many such devs and associated products out there. Many change their strategy from maintenance to abandon as well. It seems to be more common as time goes on.

i always "considered" soundtoys to be Class A products? seems maybe still great plugins but with not much care handled.
