Ooopsi... Just had a look at this thread and found out that I had purchased the wrong "for life" license as it seems.

I purchased the full for life license instead of the upgrade although I already had MuLab 9 Plugin

I purchased it right after the first email and had no clue that there was an upgrade...

I did the same.....look at it as a much deserved bonus for Jo Still a crazy bargin.

I use plugins with side chains as well as Waves. I did have to use a Shell to Vst script in order to do that. It has been awhile but Im sure it is still around. Just goole Shell to vst. If I remember right you have to follow the instructions exactly as far as folders and locations. But it worked perfect and continued to work through several Mulab versions.

Waves .dlls are encased in a shell....Mulab is unable to navigate the shell. Shell to VST is a small program that separates each .dll (plugin) so that Mulab can see them. For me they also run faster this way even in other daws.

What is 'shell to vst' ?

its a tool that creates individual VST plugin files (I'd call them 'stubs') from 'shell' VST plugins, where shell plugins are actually a single file which contains multiple different plugins. Waves plugins are shell plugins, for example.

One reason for using it is that a thing about shell plugins is that there's only the single shell file in your plugin folder (and thus usually your plugin menu) with no way to organise the contents individually. De-shelling them into stubs lets you place them in your folders where you want.
Another is that not all hosts can use shell plugins propely in the first place.

Not 100% sure cause it has been a while, but I dont think so. Never made it to Jo's to do list.....dont blame him. Waves is a train wreck in general. But aside from Waves there are others that use Shells...Black Rooster Audio for example. Not really sure what the obstacle with Shells are from a development stand point.
