This, and sharing it with the world, is the correct path.

If you're finishing tracks then you can pretty much justify any instruments and tools needed to do this.

Of course if you get new instruments it's better if you use them than not.
NO! Each purchase should be seen as a step to the next purchase. Once you have something, check off an item on a list with its name on it and start shopping for the next thing. This is the way.

Speaking only for myself, finishing more projects will in no way interfere with my G.A.S.

If anything, finishing more projects will actually intensify a desire for more gear. If I finish "X" amount of projects with "X" amount of gear, just think of all the additional projects I could finish with more gear! :hihi:
Whatever works for you, but I find making music to be super distracting from the TRUE art form of buying.

My resolution is:

In 2024 I am finally going to sell all the old gear that is waiting, boxed up and in a closet.

I got a book on 'Gen' for Max at Christmas, I'll put it with the other 2 books I bought on MAX and haven't read yet ;-)

TBH I am a bit fired up again making MAX devices for PUSH 3 SA and also with RNBO now being able to make VSTs or Pi (Hardware) devices, seems like it may be worth the effort and I do quite enjoy it!
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Wait... You mean, some folks have extra cables sitting around? :o

I always seem to be at least one cable short!

Best thing? How is that decided?

Perhaps the most expensive would be the Waldorf Quantum. I've got a bunch of gear to sell. I live in a remote location so it's a pain to ship anything.

Most expensive. I'm on the same boat this year. Here's hoping for some success. I'm going to get rid of the worst things first though. It's all about making space and I find it easier to part with cool shit once I start parting with other shit, um, uncool shit.

I like most everything I want to sell... I just like other stuff more and keep my hardware setup somewhat minimal.

I just hate selling so I have stuff that has long been replaced by better gear or I just don't use it anymore. I mean, I like my little mackie 12 channel live mixer with FX, but I have better mixers and I don't need it anymore. I also used to like my CR1604, but that was decades ago and I never bothered to sell it. I'll probably just dispose of some things. Maybe I'll find some sort of flea market/hamfest thing in the spring and just setup a table.

I also have no plans to use any of my PA gear anymore and it takes up a lot of space. So that's the stuff that will go before I start thinking about how to sell my vintage analog gear, which I also no longer want.

I'd have said the thing with the best reputation or cool factor. Quantum is a pretty serious piece of kit. Good luck with getting a good price and shipping it etc.

I just moved countries recently and had to ship my whole studio, speakers, fragile and things and all. My plus was we had a shipping company and I wasn't sending fragile stuff in the mail...

I don't want to sell anything, but I do want to use more of it this year, if space permits getting it out. e.g. I have an EMU Proteus 2000, with some expansions, that I haven't plugged in since getting it off eBay...
