Hidden MSF instruments?

I'm seemingly having an odd problem with MSF; after activating with my product file, I had access to a ton of instruments, however on my next reboot the number has drastically reduced. In the category menu there are little grey numbers beside each segment, i.e. "Pad (388)", however when I click on Pad I only have access to 17 instruments. I'm wondering if I'm misunderstanding something, or if there's a problem with my instrument display.

17 sounds about right. 388 is referring to the number of presets.
