There was a whole big discussion about filters he did recently in one of these threads. Short answer: lots of products have older or medium detail filters he coded (everything from Live to Strobe+Cypher, to even Serum with some older ones), but there are no synths with the high detail Cytomic filters outside of the VCV Rack modules he made. And of course, The Drop (which isn't a synth).
Alchemy also has some of pre-Cytomic era filters .

Andy went into great detail about it here if anyone is interested in hearing it directly from the horse's mouth:

Yeah , I somehow forgot Antti Huovilainen ( another traiblazer) was also involved in Alchemy’s filters
I used smartelectronix ‘A synth’ a lot back in the early days

Thanks Funkybot, it's probably worth just copying and pasting that post here anyway so it's a little clearer upon scanning this thread.

So with regards filters I've worked on, here is a recent post I made on the above thread to clarify things:

"There are three main eras of filters I've done: Vellocet initial "low detail" explicit type filters (1990-2004 20+ years ago), FXpansion "medium detail" explicit ones (2004-2009 15+ years ago), and my current Cytomic "high detail" implicit filters (2009-present).

Implicit filters (eg Trapezoidal) solve more accurately the non-linear circuit equations iteratively to converge on an accurate solution of the current output's value in terms of itself as well as all the inputs / previous energy. Explicit filters (eg Forward Euler) use the previous outputs / previous energy to generate the current output, so are less accurate, and don't quite have the same "zing" at high cutoffs.

The Vellocet era filters are in some FXpansion stuff, and also in Serum, and are work I did around 20 years ago now. The FXpansion era filters added more non-linearities and detail and are in FXpansion stuff like Strobe / Cypher / Amber, and I'm really proud of the sounds of those synths for the cpu usage that was reasonable at the time. I was not involved in Strobe2 / Cypher2 but I believe the a lot of the guts of the osc / filters I did for v1 were updated for those, perhaps new bits added - Angus please feel free to fill in details here if you want.

The Cytomic filters in The Drop and VCV Rack modules (CF100 / A-124) are high detail (with medium detail as an option) so are my best work to date. The ones I licensed to Ableton for their devices are the medium and low detail (medium everywhere but now also more efficient lower detail for filter mode II in drift). There are no Cytomic filters in any other pieces of software / embedded hardware. If you want Cytomic filters in a synth right now you have to use Live or VCV Rack, but I will be doing some synths in the future.

Antti Huovilainen did some filters on contract to Camel Audio for Alchemy, but they broke when pushed high in freq / res / drive. Ben from Camel couldn't get a reply from Antti about fixing them, so he approached me for help. Both Ben and Antti are friends, so I decided to help out since Ben's product was kinda ruined without those filters working, and Antti helped me a lot getting into more detailed analog modelling. I got Antti's filters working without breaking, keeping the same sound as much as possible. So my filters are not in Alchemy anywhere, I just fixed Antti's filters, which are Explicit ones (eg Forward Euler), so nowhere near the level of the current Cytomic tech anyway."

Alchemy did have some existing filters, but Antti wrote the (at the time) new analog modelling filters for Alchemy (pre Apple purchase, I think they added some more later on), but they "blew up" under certain conditions. I made as few modifications to them as possible to keep the same sound but have them not "blow up", so the sound of the filters is all Antti. Please don't consider I was involved in the design and sound of those filters in any way, I was only helicoptered in at literally the last minute so save the day and get them working properly before release as a favour to some friends.

I hope the cytomic synth has selectable filters, since there are a bunch already made. I also hope the oscillators aren't simple wave tables, since according to many KVR forum-goers an analog oscillator can be perfectly emulated with a simple wavetable.

Post

Hoping UI and modulation to be modern without any analog limitations.

I love the work you did with Ableton i have a hard time finding better sounding filters and a better compressor the ones you have licensed in Live. Also the CPU load is ridiculously low compared to other 3rd party plugins.
I make electronic music - DAW of choice : Live 12

A Synth by Andy would be awesome.. though I have to admit it took me awhile to get much into the synth squad... but a lot of it had to do with a wrong approach by initial sound designers..
But yeah it might be 15 years in the making :)

My impression from his public posts is that he's been focused primarily on The Glue V2 and has been providing regular updates on the status of that.

Ah, ok - also a good thing :-) thanks @Funkybot's Evil Twin!

I'm quite interested in Andy's circuit-emulated Phase 90. I assume we'll get script and block logo varieties? Perhaps a Phase 45 mod as well?

Wondering how that's coming along.
