Hi guys. Any plans to release new sample based instruments? I really miss a Rhodes Piano and Wurlitzer in MSF and I want to get rid of Addictive Keys - LABS etc. eventually and only use MSF as my instruments VST.
Let me know please.

I really hope they will invest in good professional sound designers to create regular expansions with a well defined genre each in a way nexus is made.
So expansions with current sounds ready to use.
To make this viable i think they shouldn't be part of any current bundle. No one likes to spend money but this comes with a cost, so a fair price for each expansion should be fair.
They could even plan everything in a way to create a MCompleteExpansion in a way that people who buy it will get every future expansion for free.
That may be a good way to financially fund the project to help the initial costs.
Having also instruments like brass, strins, strumming guitars like Komplete would make this product the best in the market

Hi Frankie. The thing is, from MSoundFactory's product page quote:
"As a Melda customer you already know that you get all future versions for free, right? But you also get future instruments for free! We are just not going to try to sell you more stuff all the time like everyone else. MSoundFactory is a platform that gets you a free flow of new sounds."
If this is true, Im not expecting to pay for new instruments, that was the big hook for me to to buy MSF in first place.
I hope someone of Melda's staff could clear something about this?

Imo is better to pay for sounds you use instead of free sounds that you never use.
If this can be achived for free i'm more than happy (i don't like to spend money like everyone) but no one work for free and hiring professionals to deliver nexus/kontakt same quality alternative may be pretty expensive.
They may do a MRompler to keep that quote true with some good free stuff inside (to be part of MComplete) then sell expansions.
So MSF comes with free stuff as you wrote but they can deliver HQ and useful sounds through expansions.
I'm just throwing ideas, i mean ppl need and want ready to use sounds that are genre specific. Nexus, Avenger are doing well because of that, so there is a market and i think their expansions prices are very high. So if Melda can reach the same quality also have margins to lower prices.
But if they can do it for free no one complain. I'm just saying there are people like you and me who would love to get rid of other plugins and others who would join just because they will found same useful sounds for their music at a lower price.
Then it's a Melda decision to decide how to deliver this.

More than expansions, my request is about future virtual instruments, like Meldway and Monastery Grand Pianos. Specifically Electric Pianos (Wurli, Rhodes, Clav). There's one already in MSF. Sounds ok but I can tell it's only an aproximation to the real thing.
Also I would rather have one versatile FM synth for example, vs. one for plucks, another one for pads, etc.

I understand, but the point for a company is the potential of a plugin, the market interest and so a ROI (return of investment).
If a plugin is desiderable to the market, get more attention from customers, and so more money for the company then more attention/contents too.
It's the same ballpark, you may ask for instruments, while john doe for actual synths, and jane doe for actual drums, but the result is of our request is "more useful sounds for our music"
There are certain sounds that are commonly useful for the majority (piano, strings, brass, e-pianos and so on) cause they are suitable for different genres. While others are more genre specific, and that's a strenght point of certain plugins such Nexus and Avenger.
The more money they get from this stuff, the more they can offer regardless.
The way they offer it it's their choice, i think the point here, is to ask them to make MSF something comparable with the "industry leader" in the market, such NI Komplete and Nexus/Avenger.
It require time and it's very expensive, that's why i suggested the paid expansions model. If they don't want to go against their current statements, they could even create a kind of 3th party company (such United Plugins) to create these expansions.
I'm just throwing ideas to them, to make it possible, that way this may fund free content into MSF, but as i wrote it's their decision.
I can just say that there is interest in these kinds of plugins (Kontakt, Nexus and Avenger are a great examples) and hoping to see it on the Melda ecosystem, till them we can pay grand$ on these other software if we want (but considering their DRM, i don't anymore)

It's not like we haven't already got the tools to make the sounds we want or need for our own music.
If you are looking for new sounds, why not just buy the best that is already available in a fairly saturated market instead of suggesting that Melda change their already popular and successful business model?
I don't think any one company can cover every conceivable instrument or sound better than the product leaders in those niches. The group that owns Melda already owns several of these market leaders UVI, IMAGE LINE etc
Melda is in a fairly unique position with the technology it has developed covering most areas of sound production and design to a very high standard because they have been focused and long may this continue.

If it is like you wrote why we have lots of 1176 emulations, la-2a and so on?
Why there are so many spaghetti brands?
Why so many smartphone manufacturer? Expecially in an oversaturated market.
This happens because every company do things differently, and that's why we are here.
We love to have this offer from Melda in the Melda way. Simple and easy

Hi guys.
Lairboy, I use other vst's all the time, and I'm not asking for Melda to change their "popular and succesful buisness model"
In fact, I love them for the model they have, and I have spent a lot in their plugins, much more than any other brand, I feel at home with them. Eventually I would like to leave my other VSTs behind to use only Melda, and I'm not expecting them to come up with all instruments ever created. Maybe the MSF description in Melda's web is a little misleading:
"Imagine an 808 bass, you'd buy a dedicated plugin for it, right? Well, you don't need to, because that's an instrument inside MSoundFactory. Same as a grand piano, an electric piano, an organ, various synths, basses etc. And we are making more as we speak!
As a Melda customer you already know that you get all future versions for free, right? But you also get future instruments for free! We are just not going to try to sell you more stuff all the time like everyone else. MSoundFactory is a platform that gets you a free flow of new sounds.
There may be some commercial instruments in the future, but most of the stuff will be available for you with no cost at all. You can expect electronic synthesized stuff as well as various sampled instruments."
In summary, my only question to Melda was/is:
Are you guys planning in the near future to include other sampled instruments -specifically electric pianos (Wurlitzer, Rhodes, etc) for MSF?

Working on it!
But you know, there's only so much dev time we have. But soon there should be strings!

Strings are cool and any real instruments are cool! (I also hope for brass in the future :p)MeldaProduction wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 3:31 pm Working on it!But you know, there's only so much dev time we have. But soon there should be strings!
Any chance to have some kind of pack dedicated to current sounds of certain genre? (like edm, house, pop)

MSF has a lot of good sounds already. It could be nice to have sound sets from known sound designers but then, these guys are already doing their stuff with other synths that I own. Why would Melda spend time in replicating instead of innovating ? For instance Bitwig is innovating and it works well.
This said I suspect some popular sound designers are also relying on straightforward, clear and practical VST documentation to work with.

The current beta version (16.11d) has the following new instruments: Cosmosis, Cyber bear, Deep vibes, Frozen sparks, Magic dust, Mecha vox, Neon dolls, Solar flare, Sonic pulse, Sugar rush, and Twisted wave. Many(most?) of these were designed for EDM. Is that what you are looking for?Frankie.T wrote: Wed Jan 24, 2024 7:29 amStrings are cool and any real instruments are cool!
