The MB-33 is no longer in production since the TD-3 was released. I imagine his sales just completely stopped. It's a shame really as it had a really nice sound. I had two of them at one point - now I have a TD-3 and the new Modded Out version :D

Knocked a fresh 20oz cup of hot tea over onto my TD-3 about a year and half ago. Took the bottom off, let it sit for a week, cleaned up the sticky mess on the buttons. Thing fired right back up and went into instant rave mode.. They may be cheap but its built just like a TB-303 and sure isn't the Behringer 'sliver line' of the mid 2000s where stuff fell apart left and right.

i'm into aggressive side of 303 sound, so my favorite is MAM MB-33 Retro, it screams like crazy.
but YMMV.
no sequencer on that one though. As far as i understand the sequencer in a TB-303 is quite special. It is not a regular sequencer as you are used to but i bet it is a great synth. Have heard about it before. There is also Control Synthesis Deep Bass Nine, Syntecno TeeBee, MAM FreeBass 383, Will Systems MAB-303 and Doepfer MS-404, all quite similar as far as i understand.
First generation TeeBee is the most accurate out of all of these. MS-404 is least accurate, even less accurate than the TD-3. MB-33 is really good for SH-101/MC-202 sounds, surprisingly.

Is the new Behringer is the only clone that includes the DevilFish mods? I think the Avalon might have some of them, not sure.

Anyway, here’s another video showing the MO :-)

Good to hear that they upped their game in the quality department.

Best hardware I've owned was a special x0xb0x with some nice mods. Those are rarely up for sale but you can build one from a kit. Not expensive. Was easy to program and sounded wonderful.

Behringers clone is very much like the original, but it sucks to program both the original and Behringer one. The Behringer can be adjusted to match how you would like it to sound by opening it up and adjusting the offsets of filter/reso.
I had a TB-303 in the 90's, was cheap to buy back then. I would never want to buy a Roland TB-303 again, it's hilariously priced atm and it's NOT fun to program them.
If you want a good clone, the Behringer one is cheap (under a $100 used). I would get one of the Devil fish one though if you're looking for "original". You need a good fuzz in combo with a 303.. :)

Yeah, I agree. I've never owned the original, but I bought the TD-3 MO (DevilFish) a while back, then took a brand new standard TD-3 on a partial trade a few months later. They're both cool, but the MO is by far the better sounding and more versatile unit IMO, and I ended up selling the standard TD-3.
Logic Pro | PolyBrute | MatrixBrute | MiniFreak | Prophet 6 | Trigon 6 | OB-6 | Rev2 | Pro 3 | SE-1X | Polar TI2 | Blofeld | RYTMmk2 | Digitone | Syntakt | Digitakt | Integra-7 | TR-8S | MPC One | TD-3 MO

I think the Avalon is probably the best, but it's pricey.

The behringer TD3-MO sounds really close though, when it's in plain 303 more, and of course you get the extra controls. I think this is probably the one to get.

Personally I don't mind 303 programming. Yes, it's a bit fiddly, but this can allow a bit more consideration to occur when making a pattern or set of patterns.

Aah. I must have missed this...

This is clearly the best TB303 clone now it's available in black! (After being teased a long time ago...)

X0XB0X no. 173 modded with extra bass, and envelope tweak.
My unit has trimpot added for tweaking the power leaking to filter resonance for more or less wetness.

And a filter input to the filter and VCA, lots of fun when controlling another monosynth via CV/GAte and then routed into the unit for the filter and accent control.
Can also be used for filter feedback and drive the resonance into self oscillation
Here is a Sh-2 used this way

And MiniMoog :)
