Someone can explain, why there is an audible difference between rendering in Tracktion and Cubase?
I give here two links with small examples:

http://www5.webfile.ru/get/940914553/di ... cktion.wav
Thanks!

I've been having quite some trouble rendering tracks and songs myself lately, think it's something the developers need to work on.
I'm having clips that are rendered as noise when i export a song, other tracks being distorted when i render midi to uadio (see my recent thread), and entire tracks being rendered as noise when i export them...

If it works OK when you play them inside Tracktion but doesn't work when rendered,
that may be that some VSTs are not compatible with Tracktion way of dealing with non-real time rendering.
You may try to "check" the "real time rendering" in the renderer window.

With the work with Tracktion I noticed that the sound was not particularly good. I thought that this problem can be solved with the rendering. Then I have experimented with Discovery VSTi in Tracktion and Cubase. I have rendered the same notes with the same velocity and with the same length and it give the substantial diference between results.Ixox wrote:Can you please explain exactly what you did, what you used... etc.... ?

There is a list of Vst Plugins, which are compatible with Tracktion?Ixox wrote:If it works OK when you play them inside Tracktion but doesn't work when rendered,

Is IxoxFlute compatible with Tracktion? Oh, only a jokeIxox wrote:If it works OK when you play them inside Tracktion but doesn't work when rendered,

I like this sequencer, but the quality of sound must be improved. Try to make the same project in Tracktion and in Cubase, and then make Rendering and compare the results. As Tracktion appears, I thought: Now there is a beautiful possibility to make music with the computer without last trousers to sell. And it is nearly so… nearly like that.

All host have different sound quality. All people have also different ears. At the beginning I offered 2 files for hearing. It heard someone?Tingle wrote:Tracktion is the same quality as any other host.

There isn't 100 different ways of adding 2 numbers.reDisca wrote:All host have different sound quality.....Tingle wrote:Tracktion is the same quality as any other host.
If you can hear difference between 2 hosts that will be in extreme situation with 128 tracks and 300 VST.... And the difference will be very subtle.
There is no way you can hear a difference with one VST plugged in one single track...
I listened to the 2 files you post... The difference can only be due to a problem with renderering.... Clipping, not exactly the same preset or a rendering bug.
You should not hear any difference.

Thanks for the explanation. I did not want to insult the users of Tracktion. Possible guess what version of Cubase I use. But I would like to make music with good conscience. And Tracktion is practically only one way for me. Tracktion gives me possibility to work professional with audio and midi. This is very suitable Sequencer. All that it is necessary and nothing spare. But sound... The sound quality is a subjective factor. So I have published these 2 files to hear the opinion of the other people. And I hope that your opinion corresponds to the reality. In any event - thank you for advice in respect of: "render at 1x play-speed". This helps in most cases.Ixox wrote: I listened to the 2 files you post... i don't know if this is relevant to you but:
tracktion often clips when it tries to render audio clips offline that have been set to play at faster-than-normal speed (the faster the clip has been set to playback, the more extreme the clipping).
jules knows about it.
