But speaking of drinking... this morning I was exploring feedback with the new 5.1 filters. They are some of the more creative filters available in any software.

I'm not sure why Ableton Live doesn't support plugin context menus.

Ripple filter singlehandedly had me regretting not getting an upgrade plan while the sale was ongoing. I primarily use Reaper, but I've been periodically loading up Bitwig to mess around with Grid and just try things out. I'll just have to keep exploring everything else (there's plenty).

The new Live 12 'performance pack' may influence some people, there is a lot more here than I had thought...

X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

The tool are aimed at live performers I think. The modulation stuff in Bitwig is great for sound design (if a bit of a rabbit hole) but I think Live is trying top get back to fast and fun and these tools seem like a great addition to me. I have a PHUSH 3 SA and this looks to be bale to customise it completely for a performance (knobs, display etc) so its great for me- I may even use the CV outputs, that looks cool.

My Osmose is great to play expressively, but I never feel like I need to do anything else to it- per voice or otherwise, more than enough going on with just regular MPE midi data for me!

Superior MPE support has really become one of Live's biggest strengths relative to Bitwig. Main reason why I've switched.

Here's hoping that with Push 3 now being MPE they start allowing per-voice modulation, at least within the context of MPE.

Though personally I've been happy with the extensive modulation options offered by Equator2 and other MPE synths I use. I don't think I ever bothered using any of Bitwig's native modulation options, and I haven't tried any of Live's. (Though I did make one Bitwig Grid device to get it to map note+octave -> new note/new octave to use with the Artiphon Instrument 1 (which I wouldn't recommend incidentally)... it was an absurd Rube Goldberg machine for a feature that should be absurdly simple to program, and no one could provide me with a better option (in Bitwig):

Think late Leonard Cohen (You Want It Darker), Jonathan Bree, James Blake, Mitski (Laurel Hell especially), Aldous Harding, ranging to some Grimes (some of the less EDM oriented tracks, particularly from Miss Anthropocene).
