Well, yes, gone and replaced by a games shop.
However, it was an outlet of a reseller chain. So, they basically still exist. But I wanted to have a short way, so I could take a taxi back home with the box. And now that the outlet is gone, best I can do now is buy online.
The whole hectic of these days is annoying anyway. I went to another shop to learn about prices and configs, but... they have queues like you ain't never seen... kept me out of their doors...
Cheers,
Urs

Oki now.
A top modern pc is ordered, the required software as well. I guess the pc will arrive somewhen next week. The software is a bit more problematic, as I wanted the English version and the shop had to order it from Microsoft. Arrrgh! - I hope it doesn't take too long
Nevertheless, I'm currently deep in a short R&D phase, developing the no-questions-left arpeggiator/sequencer that will enter FilterscapeVA now and Zebra 2 in its luxury version later.
I also made good progress on some cross-platform drawing, got one cool alternative drawing layer compiled on the Mac which should also compile for pc. So I can at least prepare some stuff while waiting for the developer software.
Cheers,
Urs

as it seems that Zebra PC is not quite ready yet, we could go for a new group buy?

I have only recently come to an idea about how to make an introduction offer for PC versions without pissing off Mac customers and yet delivering crossplatform licenses. Tricky stuff. But I'll have something going when it's due. (Like, when buying the PC introduction version, it will run exclusively on PCs for the first 3 months. After that, it will also run on Macs with the same license keys. Something like that. This way, PC users can have the same benefits that Mac users had, just - in case of Filterscape and Zebra - a little (ahem

Latest update
The PC comes today, tomorrow or on Monday!
The "small" arpeggiator in FilterscapeVA is already highly addictive. I'm currently fixing some bugs, but you can do really cool stuff with that (a step control sequencer lets you gate, rewind, fast forward, pause, transpose and change note length of the arpeggiator).
An example song is in the works. Note that the shortest note played is *one bar* (ok, some quarters as well). All the rhythm/patterns are due to the arppegiator.
I think this will be a major feature in Zebra 2, when extended to the luxury version (i.e. 32 steps instead of 16, switchable patterns and stuff...)
Cheers,
Urs

Ok. The PC is here. Welcome me to the dark side
Looks like everything is as advertized. All required interfaces available, front jacks for FW and USB, 1 Gig memory, AMD 64 4000+ with some sort of nForce Chipset (whatever that is, I'm a Mac retard)... ATI Radeon Xsomething with 256MB, but most importantly, a TV tuner and a remote control with a record button. All in all a promising outlook (well, if you neglect that there's already a beauty in brushed metal whispering under my desk...)
Nevertheless, I won't turn it on before Sunday. Tonite's the first 2 DVDs of 24's 3rd season (we finally got them!), tomorrow is working on VA Release Candidate, Saturday is hang over recovery.
I'll keep you posted!

Man, I wish there was an easy way for me to get you this stuff. Season 4 starts next week for us. Have fun with Season 3. It's a good one, as usual.Urs wrote:

Unfortuantely, it made the round, and so it's almost impossible to get the DVDs from UK in our rentals (German version isn't out before broadcast, but broadcast starts in January, and I want it in original language, without commercials)
Dude... if you can get the US version of season 4... no matter about region code... I'll come and pick it up if that's an option!
Cheers,
P.S.: Tomorrow WILL be devoted to hang over, that's for sure... we made what could be translated to "mudd bowl"... vodka, red wine, cherries, bitter lemon and vinalla ice. But don't ask 'bout proportions..
