Is it possible to create a momentary switch?

What I've been trying to do is to use a Note Event Pad to attenuate the Gain of an Amplifier module.
The closest I can get is the Parameter Value Generator which does set the Gain to -00db when pressed, but I would like it to reset to it's previous value when you let go.
The whole purpose is to assign a hardware controller to three of these NEP's so that I can control 3 bands of an EQ by muting each momentarily whilst a button on the hardware is pressed. Again, letting go of the hardware button resets the Gain to it's previous setting.
Can that be done? Am I approaching it wrong?
I think what's needed is for the PVG to have a Note ON and Note OFF value. So for example, open the Properties of the PVG and I have set the Min and Max to -00db for Parameter number one. I then tried setting both to 0.00db for Parameter number two, but the second parameter overrides the first.
If each Parameter had the option to respond to EITHER note on OR note off, it would allow us to create various switches. Unless I've gotten it wrong?

Not sure if this is a bug, but triggering the NEP which sets the Gain of the amp to -00db via the PVG doesn't update the Front Panel control, but moving the Amplifiers Gain knob with the mouse does update it.

Intended behaviour, if it's what I'm thinking of. A front panel knob could control a multitude of values. Changing one of those values by some other mechanism should not be expected to go back and change the knob, and thus everything else the knob controls. (Partly because one of those values would be the one just changed by the other mechanism - and then you might argue that the cause of that other mechanism should be informed of every change to the knob. In which case you'd cause a feedback loop...)sl23 wrote: Sun Jan 14, 2024 8:28 pm Not sure if this is a bug, but triggering the NEP which sets the Gain of the amp to -00db via the PVG doesn't update the Front Panel control, but moving the Amplifiers Gain knob with the mouse does update it.

I got lost halfway through that, so I'll take your word for itpljones wrote: Mon Jan 15, 2024 7:46 pmIntended behaviour, if it's what I'm thinking of. Thanks bibz!
I had tried the Note On Upon Note Off but didn't think to use it to control another PVG. Simple stuff!
I didn't need a Front Panel as I'm adding it to an existing one

Works a treat, thanks for your help
The reason the Front Panel knobs weren't updating is because they were MetaParameter knobs. They didn't need to be so redid them direct and now they update when press/release the switch.

I don't suppose it's possible yet to assign MIDI CC to control a switch?
Could we please have that option at some point? Thanks.

MIDI mapping could do with an uplift (MIDI CC to MIDI Note event isn't possible, for example).

Maybe Im misunderstanding but does the below pic work the way you want, I didnt try with a real controller so used the Midi Controller Generator, the 3rd module is the Mod to audio converter.sl23 wrote: Tue Jan 16, 2024 9:38 am I don't suppose it's possible yet to assign MIDI CC to control a switch?

Sorry, I meant mapping a controller to a hardware controller knob, which may not necessarily be a CC specifically, could be RPN, NRPN or whatever. But R-clicking a Front Panel knob, for example, allows you to map the parameter to a hardware knob/slider/etc. It's a shame that you can't do this with the NEP's.
Thanks for the effort bibz, it's appreciated. that works and is better than nothing. Thank you so much!
EDIT: I obviously misunderstood, it actually does map to a hardware knob. My MPK Mini Plus doesn't have buttons though! Didn't consider that when I bought it!!!

It works using knobs on my controller, but I don't have any programmable buttons, but I think it would work with them too.
Thanks for your help.
