odd MFM2 VST3 issue - not seen by Bitwig

I just want to understand this. The VST3 version of MFM2 didn't show up in Bitwig but was fine in Studio One. I finally found "per plugin overrides" in the plugin list in Settings and checked it and it loaded. I can't find mention of it in the Bitwig manual. This is the first plugin that has done this. What is it?

Did you maybe also install the CLAP version of MFM2?
In this case, you'd have to uncheck the "Prefer CLAP over VST" option in Bitwig's location settings.
Otherwise the VST3 won't be displayed in the plugin list.
