We shall see orchestral machines with a thousand new sounds, with thousands of new euphonies, as opposed to the present day's simple sounds of strings, brass, and woodwinds. -- George Antheil, circa 1925 ---

You scroll through the vertical list of scales, click on one, then near the bottom you see giant blocks with notes on them.
Click on the giant blocks with a chord label in the middle, it makes a sound in that respective chord using the internal sound generator built in Scaler. You then drag and drop these blocks into the lower bank to create a chord progression you like. Then you can click the label that says 'DRAG' and drag the chord progression over to your piano roll.
You can also route midi from Scaler into your VST synth and use the lower octaves to switch between chords iirc.

Hello Smasha. You sound like a salty little brat who didn't get their lollipop. I suggest stop being a sourpuss and listen to the people who try to help you. But you have to do a little something for it, of course. Like, maybe, I don't know, actually do something?
Its over for Bitwig--CUBASE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

or you could try reading the manual. I know, you have no time.Smasha wrote: Wed Jan 24, 2024 10:28 pm Looks like i have to spend a week doing the course.
No time.
That explains how complex and only made for smart people this plugin was designed for.
if you spent half the time reading the manual that you have crying about your lack of ability
on here you'd be much better off. That or actually learn to play the keyboard.

I am hopeless with musical theory.
I learnt to play major and minor on every key on the keyboard by ear.
But I don't understand why there are AUG and Dim triads and all that stuff.
I know the Scaler course explains it but that stuff goes woosh, right over my head.

I got a chord sequence out of Scaler 2 by using one note chords,Hooray.
Next I setup Scaler 2 to route through a Bass instrument .
I load up a bass sequence but no sounds when I play the chord boxes.
I don't get it.
I also tried the Midi Kb but nothing again.
Be quicker just mucking around playing a bass melody myself sigh.
Will have to find that part in the course as this is not making any sense.
i have everything practically setup in my mind so I don't know what I am doing wrong.
Argh,Scaler

It seems the bass sequence note selected by Scaler is in dissonance or not the right note when I put the sequenced melody into the midi detector.
I'll have to find the module in the tutorial on bass.

Actually the problem isn't that it''s complex, it's the interface that I find to be really unintuitive. The problem I have is that I don't work with it that often, and between the times I do I forget all about what to click and where.Smasha wrote: Wed Jan 24, 2024 10:28 pm That explains how complex and only made for smart people this plugin was designed for.
But as with anything, if you take the time you would probably learn it perfectly in a day. Probably less. Then you just have to use it not to forget what you have learned. After that it will be second nature. I should probably do it, as it seems to be quite competent.
