I can't wait to use it, it sounds stunningly good and effortless to get ultra complex timbres, exactly what I've been dreaming of.
Can Zebralette do unison ? I know it's not the most exciting features, but once combined with rich evolving timbres...

The Wavetable renderer has Osc Unison... but at the moment (at least) there is no voice unison/stacking.

Zebralette 3 is incredible for percussion. I't's easy to precisely control the sound over time. Urs has done an amazing job on this!! :tu:

Nice to see such development in Zebralette. Tnahk You team!

I read your comments in another thread about this and I’m extremely keen to try it out. The Chromaphone synth is disappointing.

have i understood the video correctly?:
there will be copy/paste possibilities for exchanging wavetables between zebralette and hive ?

wishlist:
drag&drop would be cool too:
2 windows open and drag the wavtable created in zabralette over to hive :)

and:
copy/paste/dra&drop between all kinds of different synths like vital, serum etc etc

Post

It is not exactly copy and paste. You can export .wav from Zebralette and copy/paste .uhm (wavetable creation language for Hive). You can also import .wav and extract/vectorise waveforms. That is a bit hit and miss.

Post

would be cool though, wouldn't it ? :)

i mean, designing and creating wavetables on one side
and then drag it over to hive (pigments, serum vital socalabs whatever) for further refinement and synth treatment...

p.s.:
i just tried and noticed:
hive does not react/support drag&drop of wavetables from the finder ?

(which does work in pigments, vital, socalabs from ewhat i've tried...)

There are things you can do with Chromaphone that would not be possible in Zebralette 3. For example, you can have random noise as an exciter cause it is a whole synth and Zebralette 3 is mainly a single Osc (but what an Oscillator :o ).

But for the usual struck percussion like bells and mallets and plates, etc., little z3 sets a whole new standard for precise control. And the sound quality!

With the ability to copy uhm code directly from Zebralette 3 to Hive 2, it also turns Hive into a super synth! Zebralette 3 becomes the visual waveform editor for Hive. This news promises many new hours of sonic discovery. Enough to keep us waiting for Zebra 3.

Thanks Urs!

hello urs!

just had a few questions I've been dying to hear about. so excited for this release, I've been watching for any piece of news about these releases constantly so it's so exciting to see

(In Zebralette 3 or Zebra 3)Will your team be planning on implementing note-tuned LFO's that have controls like octave, semitone, fine tune? if not, how well will the parameters within the zebra architecture hold up to audio rate modulation?

in addition, I was curious if any components of the splines/waveform editor will be automatable (specifically the nodes, like duda implemented for serum)?

lastly, where can one best watch for any updates on the beta? can't wait to test this out!

In the MSEG, the user can modulate the Attack, Loop and Release Rates.

And the user can modulate the morphing of the curves in both the Oscillator and MSEG. The Osc has up to 16 waveform curves and the MSEG up to 8. The way one would "automate" a point in the MSEG/OSC would be to create a curve, make a duplicate curve and move one or more points and then morph between the 2 curves. The morphing is precise.

It just hit me that the super-pretty "Twinkletoes" patch that Urs showed was made with ONE oscillator. Like -- what?! :D

I've been dreaming about morphing MSEGs for years now. Super excited about this!

Thanks Urs and team!

Something I've also wished is to be able to assign a different MESG per voice to be able to create semi random modulations. You can now do this with the mod mapper but it only really works for two voices. Or maybe having more options for the random LFOs to be able to create more shapes.

Will there be a final " multimode analogish filter" with resonance to do a final tonal shaping outside the osc efx Urs.. would be cool esp when we want to refine bass type presets

Post

Such a thing would be in Zebra. Zebralette is merely an Oscillator and MSEG learning tool without any need for filters.
