Logic has the best suite of instruments and fx built in imho, that's why I use it mainly, for things like Alchemy and Sculpture. Bitwig and Live have good instruments and fx too but I still prefer's Logic's overall, especially Alchemy which is one of my favourite software instruments.

Logic is even greater on newer Apple Silicon Macs. The optimisation is real with this one. It's a complete package with a decent sequencer timeline. Loved it for years but recently I switched to UAD LUNA.
My workflow has increased, I'm moving much faster without a separate piano roll window (I don't really mouse edit much MIDI, I rather play it in), and it just feels like a much more modern (albeit barebones) DAW. Exactly what I was looking for to maximise my creative output.

Attraction? More like "gotta get outta here and fast!" for me
- moved away to Live to actually get music made faster.

Yes, I also tried to get into Logic Pro as my main. But I quickly went back to Live. I still fire up Logic Pro from time to time because it has some very nice features. Just not a replacement for Live to me. Logic Pro is a secondary tool.

I tried to love Logic, and used it full time for about a year. Then Logic overwrote some data on a track that was out of my sight off the page by arming it on its own because I hadn't armed any other tracks before pressing record. By the time I realized that stuff was overwritten, it was long gone. There is no way to turn off this behavior which by my lights should involve quickly creating a new track, or anything other than arming an existing one.
That's when I decided that the interface is just not my cup of tea operationally. I have never meshed with it and I've been trying since the Atari Creator days. I use Live because it and I think alike.
That said, I still use the Autosampler to grab my favorite instrument sounds and there are tons of excellent sounds, FX, and instruments included. For the price it's magnificent--if you mesh with it.

Logic served me very well for the past 20+ years but I've moved on to Bitwig.
Since Apple took over Logic from Emagic at the end of Logic v6's era, there is no arguing that what you get for the price is basically unmatched. 10+ years of massive free updates for X has undoubtfully been a legendary value for many users. It might be better than that, as I can't remember if I was charged anything from 7 to 8 to 9 to 10 even? It's been so long haha.
20 years ago Logic was running circles around every other DAW when it came to MIDI, the possibilities in it's Environment, etc.. but today that is not exactly the case with all these incredibly viable options.
The question of "why the love for Logic" is kinda silly, Logic offers a ton and it's value is unmatched.
As with any DAW, you either love it, hate it, or are indifferent.

it's a classic DAW with great fx and synths included. it's $200.00 for all of it. it does what DAWs do. it's good at some things, less good at others but there's nothing stopping someone from making whatever kind of music they want to make with it.
daws all do the same basic stuff one way or another and have their bells and whistles/strengths and weaknesses etc..
find the thing that makes sense to you and use that. don't worry about other things. it's ok to use more than one daw for different tasks. it's not a religion. it's a means to an end.

A pretty minor point but I'll split the difference:
They went app store (itunes store) exclusive and dropped the price of logic 9 in December 2011. I paid 179 Euro in March 2012, and not a cent since.. The upgrade to X was free!

It's the best bang for buck DAW in the market. It's really that simple. Nothing else really comes close except maybe FLStudio Producer Edition, but Logic imo still beats it. For 200 bucks you get so much. It pretty much encompasses nearly every DAW workflow. Want session view? You have it. You work primarily with external gear and midi, it can do that too. You work in the box? Logic's got you covered. Logic can be..quirky, but it's still offers so much for the price.
Studio One // Bitwig // Logic Pro // Ableton // Reason // FLStudio // MPC // Force // Maschine

Well, "200 bucks" and a mac... Too expensive a dongle for me. Beautiful software, though. Played for almost 20 years, but no more expensive Apple products for me nowadays, thanks.
