I know there are a lot of them out there, but what do you folks say?
Maybe it doesn't even have to be free! I just don't have a nice one and I wish I did.
So let me hear your suggestions.

CramIt is free and I've had good luck with it...although I haven't used it a lot.
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

This is pretty cheap (29 Eur), but don't get fooled by the price. it's a WORKHORSE!

10 (!) bands of companders with dual compression curve, optional pleasant analog saturation (or pristine clarity if you wish), and so on. You won't need any other compressor anymore

I like Density mkIII, but I mostly use it when mastering. Adds some nice color, and separation if you use the mid/side option.

Midiklang, I keep forgetting this technique. Yes, this is absolutely true and it works with Waveform's built-in plugins.

Try Lens. There are paid and free versions. The difference is that the free version has the еxpander disabled. This compressor is straight up gnawing away, gnawing off unnecessary

Or this one. But the latest build has bugs.
But it will be fixed, so watch it.

Thanks! A lot of good choices here, I particularly like the built in one in the rack!

Hi you all, I like Cramit a lot and also find the rack option very interesting.
But, have you tried the "native" multiband compressor "Master Mix" ?? I have to admit that I don't use it but it looks very proficient...

I use Master Mix on all my songs. Works well enough for me.
